Anfield waiting for a bigger calender year 2020

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Lallana, Origi, Phillips, Jones, Elliott.

Naby Keita returns to the starting line-up for tonight’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United at Anfield.

Little bit concerned that the strength in depth on the bench seems to be disappearing.

Let's get the win and go a full year without being beaten!

Phillips replaces Williams on the bench. 'Now' we have a CB back-up which I hope we will never need.

      Come on Reds.

that is as strong a team as we could put out. Jürgen talked about a rhythm of a team and how that can be affected by a change so this team is no surprise this team knows how to get the job done and if the cards fall for them they can take a team apart.
Still find it hard to even contemplate any negativity towards any team Jürgen puts out but I guess that's how it is.

That is a very strong side. What I’d hoped for, but not what I expected.
Thinking we may now turn these over. One- two touch footy, and take them apart like we did Leicester.
I’ve said previously, they are a decent side, punching above their weight, but I’m much more confident of a win now.

No reason to be anything but positive. Start with a high tempo, test them, pressure them.Strongest team available. Get the 3 points, look down on the rest of the league from our lofty perch.

Little bit concerned that the strength in depth on the bench seems to be disappearing.

Let's get the win and go a full year without being beaten!

When a reporter asked him about getting a CB he replied no reason as another body creates a problem a couple of weeks later.

If Matip, Lovren and most importantly Fab are back on it the bench fixes itself.

Offering an update on that injured quartet, Klopp said: “All positive but that again means unfortunately nothing in the first place because they should all be back in training [at the] latest by mid-January [but] how many games do we have until then, four or five? I’m not sure. So that’s a little bit of a problem but we have to see.

“Ox is walking around here without crutches, without a boot, but we have to wait until the medical department gives us the green light. Joel is doing well, Fab is doing well, Dejan is doing well, so I would say in February we will have them all back. Until then, we have to see.”

That bench is looking a lot weaker than before. But luckily it sounds as though Fab, Lovren, Matip, Ox and Shaq aren’t far off a return and we’ve got Minamino to add to it too. Obviously doesn’t solve today’s problem but at least its good to know we have got plenty of players coming back from injury over the course of January.

Worst thing that could happen for him picking up another injury, hopefully it’s just precautionary. Does that mean we are one man down on the bench?
