Stop talking Pish, so what you’re saying is that no big name player will ever come to Liverpool now that we don’t have a big name manager, is that how it works in you’re computer game fella ??

Jeez, the glory hunters have taken over the asylum!!

He's not Alonso and that will be enough for some.

He’s not Pep Guardiola either so what do ‘Some’ want ??

Hopefully the ‘some’ will like the rest of as be singing his praises before long ??

Been weird watching the "He's bald" and "Arne ten Slot" tweets.
It's only showing the posters up themselves as narrow minded.

Alonso and Amorin being the only two possible managers good enough to take over apparently.
And that's probably because they both play what is deemed to be the most modern football.
      A back 3...
Like it hasn't been done in Italy for decades and by Klopp and Pep.

Even looking up Slot since the rumours, he's been said to be a 4-2-3-1 manager
but the way his team plays is way more fluid than that, with inverted wingbacks and
wingers that seem to operate more like Klopp wide forwards.

He will need time no matter how good he is.

And his three at the back may suit the style of football in the Dutch league and not necessarily be suited to the EPL, the good thing is he’s adaptable and he could that to his advantage depending on who the opposition are, these are not negative’s, their strings to his bow and could be very useful,

I’m increasingly encouraged by what I’m hearing and what I’ve read about Arne, the signs are very positive and he seems to have ticked many of the boxes required for filling Jürgen’s shoes, he isn’t a big name yet but it’s entirely possible Liverpool & Arne could be a match as good as Jürgen has been, we just don’t know it yet !!

General Slot consensus amongst analysts seems to be -

      - Similar to a Klopp side without the ball
      - Closer to a Pep side than a Klopp side with the ball
      - A lot of through-balls
      - Transfer the ball from the back to the forwards very quickly, picking key moments well
      - Long balls at a minimum.....

Apparently, he's a bit of a whinger and has been known to criticise referees. He should be in his element with us!

5 years in the industry, it's basically getting lazy. Happy to use X/Twitter rather than actually write a proper piece.

I'd agree there are too many regurgitating hacks...always has been. But there are some bright sparks around....I liked Luke McLaughlin's turn of phase in today's Guardian talking about De zerbi at Brighton: "....he resembled a man who'd ordered penne pomedoro but got alphabetti spaghetti instead".

Not quite Klopp 2.0, but 1.75 is good for me.

Have all these players signed since Klopp has been at the club confirmed to you, either in conversation or a written document that the manager was a "massive draw"to join ?...Thought not...Football players go to Clubs because A. They are massive Clubs...B. They get to play with elite players, and therefore their chances of success are increased.... and C. Loads and loads of money. I can't imagine even one player would go to any club because of who manages the team.

Are you suggesting that the presence of Jürgen Klopp didn’t play a part in some (if not all) of the signings the club have made in the last 9 years? That’s pretty naive.

What I've said was in answer to a post which suggested JK was a "massive draw" when it came to recruitment. Now it depends on your definition of massive...I take massive to mean a great deal and so put out a post that disagreed with the original claim, and detailed a list of criteria which would be far more important to a potential player. I followed that up by saying once all that criteria was met, the managers profile might then be a consideration....I even applied a metric to it at up to 5% of any players overall decision. Nothing naive about any of that.  Of course IF all the players who have arrived at the club under Klopp's watch had put it on record that Klopp was a "massive draw" then I wouldn't have reason to question it...but they haven't, nor have they told the original poster verbally. So what he/she proposed can't be factually proven.
As I said I'm not aware of any player going on record saying they joined any club because of the manager.

I’m fairly certain Klopp was a big part of it for a number of the players and I’d be very surprised if it was as low as 5% as a factor. It’s not really quantifiable though is it. I’m also fairly certain that (if anyone could be bothered to trawl through previous quotes) several players would have cited the managers presence as being a big factor. It’s not necessarily the done thing at the clubs presser launch, players usually talk about the club but in other media/more local interviews I daresay there are lots of sound bites.

The proof of the pudding will be in our signings moving forward I guess. For myself, I’m extremely underwhelmed by the Slot signing and I think it’s a gamble. I hope our recruitment steers clear of the Dutch league.
