Newly-promoted Leeds United are ‘monitoring’ Liverpool full-back Yassser Larouci ahead of their return season in the Premier League, but price might prove an issue.
The 19-year-old is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Reds, but has made two appearances in the FA Cup this season. He arrived at Anfield from French club Le Havre in 2017 and is highly though of by Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, who is bringing through a string of promising youngsters, including Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams.
Larouci has done enough to catch the eye of Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, with the Athletic reporting that the Yorkshire club are keen to bring him in, but price could be a problem.
The teenager is not guaranteed a place in the Leeds team, given his inexperience and number of options available to Bielsa on the left of defence.
The report suggests that Leeds are interested in adding another left-back option despite this, but Larouci’s price tag may well make that unfeasible, while a loan move may prove unappealing with game time limited. However, Leeds are not giving up hope and will continue to track the situation.
