I thought the 4-0 win vs Palace after lockdown was right up there with our best 2-3 performances of the season. Obviously the following night we were champions. I also though our last game before lockdown (bar Adrian’s cock up) was also right up there in the top 5 for the season.

Pre season is important, I’ve always though results were important, particularly if there’s a bad one or a run where we do t win. But fir these two I’m not tooconcerned. Win one, drawn one. Missing Trent, missing Hendo and our forwards look rusty but we’ve got chaos shield at weekend and that’s a competitive friendly and will be a better gage if our readiness for the new season.

      Bang on!

That Atletico game was incredible, the sheer effort and composure was insane.

I have no worries at all, King Kenny needs to chill

All these games mean nothing surprised people still try and take stuff from it.

Rather watch the rain fall on the covers in Southampton.

It was, but it was also at a time where we were poor vs Chelsea and got battered by Watford. Feb onwards we were very inconsistent with the level of our performances and the games following the restart were very much the same. Yes there was nothing to play for but I don’t think for a second Klopp would think it’s ok and gave the team a free pass for it.

Don’t need to chill at all, all I was doing was pointing something out in regards to how there always seems to be an excuse if we don’t play well, regardless of the circumstances and how I wouldn’t have thought we’d still be showing signs of a lack of concentration after having the team back together for quite a while now. Unless you think the team have been fully switched on and haven’t made more mistake than we’ve come to expect?

I’m fully aware that come the start of the season it can be a different performance entirely and back to our best, but until that time we can only judge and give our views on the current time.

I don't think we've looked like the team we know they can be since before the Atlético game.
I don't know whether it is complacency or teams have started to figure us out. Unless we see a huge improvement, soon, we are all in for a shock because this season is gonna be tough based on the last few games.

Burnout to am extent as well, everyone has to remember what we had put in up to that point to get to the position we were in.

I understand where you’re coming from mate. I just feel Klopp knows what he’s doing... Mane and Salah look hungry and I’m sure they’ll click into gear come first game of the season.

I’m so excited to see what we can do, absolutely buzzing for the Prem and Champions League!

Klopp panned the performance - he clearly wasn't happy with a lot of it. Many of the players looked exhausted and it reminded me of the final game in America last season - but it certainly wasn't the kind of performance you would want in any kind of competitive match.

The bright spots were obviously Brewster's finishing, Curtis Jones spirit in closing down and working in the attack, James Milner leading the team in an improved 2nd half effort, Tsmikas at left back for the final 30 minutes and, for me, Marko Grujic in providing some consistency in the midfield. He linked defence and attack well and helped battling back. He did give the ball away a couple of times in the late going, but I think, as with Brewster, we are better served keeping him around than to loan or sell him.

Now let's win the Community Shield!

All about fitness and sharpness. defo some russtyness at start of yesterdays game, but as klopp said its the last day before flying home, all knackered.

Most unusal of pre-seasons ever. So take it as it comes, and just be glad theres any sort of footi on at this time. ;-)

ps. was nice to hear actual fans in the ground.

Bet that's the 4-2-3-1 we finished with v Arsenal. Seems like a good option to add Taki and keep the front three on when playing against defensive low block teams.

Pretty attacking lineup with Keita and Minamino backing the front 3.
With that defense tho, might bit a bit exposed in the other direction, if Blackpool good enough to exploit.
      Hopefully will avoid injuries.

Playing almost as 4-2-2-2, with Bobby and Taki as attacking mids.

Fluid formation and system as always.

I think Salah has attempted 3 passes so far but not been successful with any of them.

This is more or less our best attack line up and we are creating f**k all against Blackpool, this is becoming a bit worrying now , friendly or not.

On another note when is the last time Allison actually stopped a shot on goal, he seems to have had a bit of a dip in form.
