Incredibly optimistic. In the real world ... if he actually makes it through preseason he will be on the shelf by the end of August.

A luxury player you might get 3 or 4 nice games a season from ... but very little else. Saleable asset ... sell. Otherwise its another year of wasted wages and another freebie walking out on the cards.

Probably you are correct, try to be an optimist rather than a pessimist these days !

For me it’s simple, he is our most creative player, his qualities surpass anyone else in our squad and in a ideal world we’d clone him and have a younger version of a world class player, only his age and fitness has held him back,
Sadly, we cannot afford to hang on to players passed their use by date for too long, in the end they hamper progress from the academy, his experience cannot be bought but we can get the best out of whatever time he has left here, so I’d be happy if he remains as a squad member/bench warmer and only use him when absolutely necessary, 4th/5th sub,

We can’t have it both ways unfortunately, we’re in transition, so we have to find the ultimate balance and put the right and proper components into the mix, Jürgen I believe will have a idea or two of who he believes will be our new creative influence and it would be foolhardy to let Thiago leave, keep hold, tap into his depth of knowledge and perhaps use him as a mentor,

It’s going to take two - three windows to add the finishing touches to Jürgen’s new Red machine, so we’ll need Thiago, Henderson Fabinho et al in helping their replacement’s settle in, use the remainder of their contracts to pass on knowledge & understanding of how things work at LFC,

When he plays we tick, we’re a much more dangerous animal, it’s pivotal we find someone of a similar talent or we could be get very bored going side to side and back again, and very much stifling progress !!

With Milner gone I can't see Klopp wanting to let a leader like Thiago go.
If we end up signing Mac Allister, Koné and Thuram,
imagine having the quality and experience of Thiago to come on to finish out
a game or unlock a defence in the 75th minute.
All while being a key player for the Latin American lads in the squad.
      I hope he stays.

      That's how I see it.

20-30 appearances, some off the bench. Guide the lads in the Europa and all with that little bit of extra quality he has.

And he can help Bajcetic's development.

Thiago isn’t going anywhere. And hopefully having Mac Allister around keeps Thiago healthy so he can be used whenever needed.

According to fsgs other lapdog Pearce ... going to be allowed to walk for free next summer after we've paid him a fortune for another 'injury plagued' season. Won't spend any money ... and won't recoup any either. Pathetic.

      Same situation with Matip apparently.

Keeping Thiago makes sense because the money clubs might be willing to pay to what we can get out of him even with his injury rate ratio is reasonable, assuming we sort the midfield with other transfers. At this point in his career, for the Premier League, he's a luxury midfielder. Great to have in the squad if you have the depth required to rest him and use him as a luxury player. Anything more than that is too much and you'll constantly lose him to injury.

On the other hand, I would move Matip even if it was for a price significantly under his value. Good player when paired with VVD and manages to stay fit, but both those things are not going to happen. Konate is the starter alongside VVD and he effectively had a single season with an okay injury record. Every other season he's been glass.

Also, I have a feeling that you'd be angry all the same if we sold him and replaced him with any other midfielder. You'd say that we should've kept him and that we sold to buy. I feel like a lot of the criticism towards FSG is warranted, especially when it comes to midfield investment, but I also see a lot of ''damned if you do, damned if you don't'' type of attitude going.

1 more season for us then he'll be pulling the strings in the Saudi super league I reckon.

Only scenario I would see Thiago leave for a fee would be a bid from the Saudi league. I have no issues with playing rotational role within the mid-field (assuming we get a couple more new bodies). Going to be a transition period for new players coming in so having Thiago help bridge the gap isn't the worst idea.

Wouldn't bother me if he went if it meant Thuram and Lavia coming and the fee was worthwhile

I still think he stays one more season and then that would mean Lavia arriving this summer and not Thuram.
A CB probably only happens then if we have one or two more leaving.

Will just wait until he gets rid of those restrictions- don’t think he realises what damage it’s causing to his brand
