He finished the game so don't think that challenge is the reason alone he's missed so much time.

      It's 100% the reason.

Klopp already explained this. He played on after the foul due to adrenalin numbing the pain, but felt pain again soon after the game.

In seven seasons for Bayern he played 150 games, which is what we play a season now isn't it?

Even with the tackle I think we need to realize he is probably going to be a lot like Matip with his durability.

OK, I can live with that, because when he is fit, what a bonus he is and even without him we have more than enough quality in midfield for most opponents.

He averaged 35 appearances each year over 7 seasons

I think you're over cooking his unavailability

That tackle was a F***ing shocker and he was lucky not to miss the season with it let alone a month

We really could've used him today, especially in the 2nd half where our midfield could not retain the ball. He would've slowed down the play for us and probably beat the Manchester City press which would've probably made the difference because Salah, Sadio and Jota were on there game today and were only asking for a good weighted pass or two but we couldn't peak our head past City's press on the ball carrier and it made the difference in the quality of passes that came Salah, Sadio and Jota's way (often just a bit too heavy or too close to a City player)

Well he did get chopped in half by that absolute c**t rag Shitarilson.

We're lucky he's not out for the season too.

Little odd he played on and month later no sign possible setback or some underlying issues really really need him back sharpish

It's confusing. Hasn't he been training on his own for over two weeks?

Some guys last night said Thiago is made of glass. I dont like that statement, however, I dont like the hate people get when questioning his fitness. The biggest knock at Bayern was his fitness. It is what it is, Thiago is prone to missing games to injury. Whether he is unable to play through any pain or he's just unlucky with injury is anyone's guess. Thiago is world class. Make no mistake about. However, he was a cheap world class for a reason. If he can stay healthy skies the limit. Here's to hoping he can recover soon.

Really wondering if we are going to hear sometime that it's been decided he needs surgery and will be out for a number of additional months.

I don't know this of course, but you could really see it happening.

This is my fear... is it true Klopp was asked about Henderson and Thiago and spoke about Hendo and didn’t say a word about Thiago...?

I think this time it is not down to general fitness, he almost had his season ended by that tackle.

I was amazed he was able to get up and play on after that tackle, it was GBH. We probably shouldn't have let him play on to be honest, but the damage was probably done by then anyway. Just hoping when he comes back he is still the same player. Same for Virgil. Absolutely sickened with Everton now, every time we play them it's more a case of hoping we don't get any serious injuries than anything else, horrible culture they've developed in that club.

Yeah, and it's not Ancelotti. It's despite Ancelotti.

I thought it very telling that Jürgen didn’t respond when asked about Thiago, but did about Jordan. It’s a knee problem and we all know how tricky they can be, hope the rumours that he may need surgery are wrong and we are just being very cautious! The derby match could end up costing us a lot more than 2 points. Everton will never change while Ferguson is part of their coaching staff, as for Richarlison, that was GBH on a football pitch.
