and that should stop. With the vaccine available to anyone who wants it and majority of players in the league already vaccinated, we need to stop obsessing about cases altogether because cases will never disappear, not now, probably not ever, as the virus follows the path of every other virus and becomes more transmissible as it mutates.

I agree with this, we can’t stop the virus. It’s impossible.

So instead of spending billions on testing and track and trace, how about using that money to create more capacity for beds and world class healthcare professionals. Along with vaccines, surely that’s how you future proof

Yeah I agree with you. If we obsess about cases we will always be on the brink of disaster.
Spend the money on the nhs who need it and more hospitals instead of building nightingale hospitals just to sit there empty.

Considering we know what disasters are about, that's a poor choice of words.

Yup. And while the vaccines should be the primary way to combat the virus, there has been minimal push for therapeutics/treatments despite the fact that we’re about to enter year 3 of this mess.

The senile dumb f**k in the white house has massively dropped the ball there and now there’s even a shortage of tests because that quack Fauci urged everyone to get tested before the holidays which drove tons of people out to get tested who may not have needed to and now those who do, like elder or symptomatic, have to wait days to get one. And this is after spending $1.9 trillion on the covid package.

words come back to haunt you at times Biden told the world Trump shouldn't President because of 200k Covid Deaths now they have over 800k.
This latest variant is weaker than the last and the next one will be weaker again we have 5000 in Hospitals with Covid against over 40,000 in January we are being made to live in perpetual fear wtf is this about. Not comparable but in WW2 men were away from home for 6 years and back home the likes of Liverpool was being bombed to F**k night after night. We need to accept this is going to be like flu and we need to live with it not F**k scurry back indoors the first time someone sneezes.

Before the elections he (and Harris) also said he didn’t trust a vaccine developed by Trump. Then that he had a plan to end the virus, and here we are almost a year into his presidency and it’s a still big mess. He also said vaccines shouldn’t be mandatory only to change his mind a few months later. For all the early F**k ups from Trump at the start of the pandemic, Biden arrived to the presidency with 3 vaccines ready and still managed to make an even bigger mess of it.

Well about a week ago he was saying he didn't think they needed to cancel games because of Omicron. So he can't have it both ways.

He said we shouldn't stop the league completely but wanted some help with either the Boxing Day or 28th Dec round of games postponed. He's been pretty clear on his stance all the way through to be honest.

I thought he wanted games postponed due to schedule congestion like he does every year, not because of Covid? Maybe I misunderstood.

Also usnt the rule if you have 14 players you play?? Surely all these clubs have 14 fit players, but fook chelsea they have about 60 players on loan around the world

No one is going to call them off just to make up for their team. It's money.

      Quote from 7-King Kenny-7
Ridiculous. When the league is only able to put on 4 out of a possible 10 matches on a weekend, and a few of those teams still have a number of Covid cases, it's probably a clear sign that things need to stop for a couple of weeks.

Clubs aren't releasing details of who is missing either and there is a point where you need to look at the freshness of the teams. People will argue that Spurs were hit by plenty of Covid cases but nobody knows who those players are, they could just be the fringe players that reduce the numbers. As a result there will be key players that have had 2 weeks off to rest whilst we are getting 2 days off which isn't fair, and in those 2 days picking up more Covid cases ourselves. It's not just us in that situation, other teams will have that issue too. From what I have seen, the only teams releasing any details about what players are missing with it are Chelsea and us.

We had this situation 12 months ago and the league never stopped. Like it or not, the games have to be played. If you don't do it now, then you'll have to do it later and risk having to play 4 games in 7 days, as the mancs had to last season. Then they'll have something else to complain about.

We don't have the time to postpone games at the last minute, in case someone gets a sore throat or a cold, because that's what the latest variant amounts to, in most cases. UEFA have dealt with the situation by cancelling a Spurs game in Europe with a 3-0 walkover for their opponents, to kick them out of Europe. That sends a very strong message out to any club who decides to tactically postpone games with just hours to spare. So you make sure you round up enough players to play the games, or pay the consequences.

For the teams who are still playing, you have to say Grealish has been an astonishing waste of money. Not only has he had no impact on the season, his poor discipline has resurfaced again. There's no way Klopp could work with someone like that, at any price.

Meanwhile, I've just discovered that the man who was all set to win Chelsea the league, has not scored a league goal in 3 months. You would surely want a bit more than that, when you're paying 100m for him.
