Not before time... Hi all! :action-smiley-065: Where does the time go and why so fast?!
I had a mad weekend on the weekend of the 14th June, traveling 250 miles on the Saturday from London to Liverpool to attend the charity night. I half scared my Dad to death when I knocked on his door at 4pm - he thought I was still in London after I had said "I'm in town", just didn't tell him which one! I also asked him what the weather was like where he was... "Dry, bright and sunny" was his reply. "Funny you should say that, it's the same here!" I replied, able to see where he was from where I was! Sunday 15th was Father's day after all so I thought a surprise visit was called for!
Me and my Dad and Uncle Vic piled into the car at 7pm and headed down to the Clarence for 7.30 and Graham, May and Vicky along with Cas and Eddie where already there, so too was JD and maybe a few others but my memory fails me now!
The raffle prizes donated by various forum members and generous outsiders were plentiful and most, if not all present were able to select a prize from the assorted offerings. I won a signed Paul Tomkins book - Above Us Only Stars and a nice Champions League commemorative medal depicting our famous 5 victories, very nice. I put in a 1986 Liverpool v Everton FA Cup final programme and a Steven Gerrard autobiography, not sure who won them? Cas was chuffed to bits to win the signed Gerrard / Carragher shirt and I was made up for her... another piece for her extensive Liverpool collection!
If there was a prize for the drunkest forum member it would have had to have been split 35 different ways... JD was rockin', Cas had jelly legs, Eddie was as mashed as a mashed spud, Joey was like the last wobbly skittle in a ten-pin game and Vicky was swaying like someone on board a boat in a force ten gale. Kenny bought the whole family along, parked about 15 pints in front of them all - but we all know they where his! Tommo was trying to keep a grip on reality, in other words his pint and his reality came and went as with his visits to the bar... it was scary to see so much alcohol being put away like that... the bar man told me the pub's monthly takings had quadrupled in half an hour!
The scrumptious buffet was devoured by all present but with too many absentees much food was wasted, tut tut.
The disco was expertly controlled by MC Graham135uk in the house representing LFCREDS.com. The guest singer, Nicky, in the spirit of the evening gave freely of her time and belted out some great songs with her lovely voice, it was that good. Nice one Nicky.
Too many lunatics were throwing shapes on the dance floor, singing, laughing, drinking, eating... it was like a chimps tea party at times!
The evening was rounded off by all present joining arms in a huge circle and singing You'll Never walk Alone... a fitting end to a great night.
£6 for all this, if you didn't come along you'd better have a bloody decent excuse, I traveled 500 miles round trip to meet up with fellow Reds and those who didn't (or couldn't) come along why not?
For all those who attended, nice one, it was a great laugh... see you next year?
More photos and a few videos will appear in the near future, please be patient - editing / resizing needs to be performed. Boogie on down fellow Reds!
