      VVD and Allison? Really?

Seem to remember them being pretty hefty fees at the time and even now they’d be pretty expensive fees in todays dollars.

      Don’t beat yourself up!
If the owners won’t find the dosh the club has to generate the money somehow and selling players is the only way.

Unlike bricks and mortar projects improving playing standards does not quality for loans from the owners.

Let me make it easy for you, if we hadn’t sold Coutinho we wouldn’t have bought VVD and Allison.

Just to remind you that the summer before Coutinho left the club were looking to buy VVD - it stopped happening because of the approach issues

      So

We didnt “have to sell” to get VVD etc

Selling Coutinho allowed the club to give Southampton a bit more on top of the fee

Then the club brought in further players in the summer - Fabinho , Keita , Shaqiri, Allison

Who knows what player we would have bought in the summer but it was clear that we would have got VVD regardless of who was sold

Irrespective of the customary bullshit, the Coutinho fee was used to acquire players.
The club has no other means of generating such capital.

Coutinho was sold for ÂŁ140mil - what about the other players bought 🤷‍♂️

And yes they will use the income from a transfer to buy players - what else do you expect the club to do with it

And Suarez was sold because he wanted to leave the club - was biting people and was doing anything he could to leave the club

      Getting back onto the subject

If The club decided that Bellingham is the player they want to bring in then they would bring him into the club

There you go again, bullshit extraordinaire. If the club needs/wants a player the only way to achieve that end is raise the funds by selling players.
A proposition not available to the manager and the reason for any shortcomings on the field of play.

      What is bullshit 🤷‍♂️

If you really think the only way that the club buy players is by selling players - who was sold to buy - Jota , Thiago and Kostas

And what about the summer when they bought  Mo , Ox and Robbo

Or what about Keita , Fabinho and Shaqiri ?

People like you constantly spout on about “sell to buy” and always use Coutinho as the example - that’s one player for £140mil - The club have spent £550mil since Klopp arrived and the net spend isn’t “zero”

In fact since FSG arrived the club have spent £1bn on players and sold around £780mil worth of players - net spend isn’t zero

Surely if the club can only buy when they sell then the net spend would be zero wouldn’t jt 🤷‍♂️

But I don’t think you can see past your nose to even begin to understand

As for Bellingham ( back on subject ) - watched a little bit last and he is outstanding on the ball , his ball retention is excellent - would make a world class number 8

If we wouldn't pay 25m for this lad 18 months ago or whatever it was no way are we paying 100m for him now.

We dont play at the big boys table im afraid. Very good player ... potential to be a great. Hes got everything.

I'd try and throw keita into any deal myself ... but in thd real world he ain't coming here. Only a handful of clubs prepared to make that kind of investment and we arnt and never will be one of them.

I don’t expect the club were looking to bring him on 18 months ago when he left Brum - he was 16 at the time and still very much unproven

And I have no doubt that the club would be willing to make that level of investment on him

The finances come the summer are going to be a lot different than the last two summers
