Do we reckon we get a deal done before deadline?
Yeah, there seems to be too much noise for it to not go through now. It also makes a tonne of sense for both sides and the player:
1) Carvalho gets to stay and play first team football for another few months, which is great for him.
2) Fulham would get to keep the player for the promotion push, and guarantee themselves slightly more money than they'd likely otherwise get via tribunal. They also avoid the risk of getting negligible compensation should Carvalho decide to move abroad in the summe. Going to tribunal would be arduous and it would take much longer for the money to start coming in (for reference the Elliott fee took over 6 months in court to resolve). Negotiating a fee now instead of letting it go to tribunal also opens up the possibility for them to include a sell-on fee, unlike the Elliott situation.
3) From Liverpool's perspective we'd also be avoiding tribunal while securing the player 6 months early to box that off the to-do list and ensure that the player won't have his head turned by other clubs ahead of becoming a free agent in the summer.
All-in-all it seems to make too much sense from all angles for it to not go through. Assuming of course that the player himself wants to join Liverpool, but there's as yet been no indication that he doesn't.
