What a match. Unbelievable atmosphere. I felt that Anfield crowd here. They looked like the team we know they can be. I'm out of words for what I just watched. Amazing match.

GET THE F**k IN! What a F***ing performance that was. Something came up my end so I couldn’t go today, absolutely devastated because the atmosphere sounded electric.

I wasn’t happy with the line up to be honest and I thought it was a mistake leaving hendo on the bench and not playing three in the middle. I was, however, delighted to see Milner at full back instead of Phillips in the back line. I said a couple of times in the pre match thread that Milner had to start if Konate was out.

It turns out klopp got the team and tactics spot on. City saw plenty of the ball throughout the game but I always felt we were in control. I never felt like they were going to score. We defended as a team and every man in red was superb. They worked their F***ing bollocks off today.

We restricted them to very limited chances. Haaland and KDB are probably the two best players in the world right now and even though there were one or two moments where they showed their quality, they still barely had a kick between them.

We always looked a threat on the counter too. Salah could have easily had a brace and if Darwin had a little more composure he could have picked out salah & carvalho on two separate occasions and we could have won that game by 3 or 4 in the end.

I thought Jota was man of the match. He was unbelievable. However two shout outs first one to James Milner. The amount of reds who said it would be a car crash if he played today and would get torn to shreds. I said pre match put some respect on his name. He is Mr reliable and never ever lets us down when he’s asked to do a job. Sure he made one or two mistakes but over the 90 minutes he was superb.

Secondly to salah. Some reds were writing him off a few weeks ago, even suggesting dropping him. Give your heads a wobble. He’s won us yet another game today. Lost count how many times he’s done that.

Two huge wins back to back. Hopefully this kick starts our season now and we push on from here.

To be fair Walt you could see why many didn’t, even more so when you saw the side. Think you yourself must of been surprised to see the old man start. Milner for me given the fact that the majority thought he shouldn’t of started arguably MOTM.

Konate not playing must of been the last straw for many of you. Given the chance I think I’d of changed my prediction score for more goals to City.   

Midfield had a cracking game and it’s not often you’ve been able to say that this year. Keeping Haaland quiet must of been a bonus and think it was right for City’s goal to be disallowed. Not often this year that we can say VAR was right. 

You’ve got the kick up the arse you all needed, it’s now a question can you kick on from this. Really enjoyed the game ( obviously not the result  ) and now at least it gives us all hope to see City are beatable.

What a game!

Brilliant fighting performance. Good to see Gomez get MOTM, thought he was great. Milner had Foden in his pocket all game - the old man is not dead yet. Quite surprising how Foden seemed actually afraid to take him on, maybe Milner put the frighteners on him in the tunnel. Jota was tireless down the left - hope he is ok. Whole team played well let's face it. (I would have been giving Nunez pelters if Citeh had equalised cos he was really wasteful/greedy in 3 situations, but we'll give him a pass for youthful over-excitement.)

Hilarious to hear Martin Tyler trying to keep alive the "controversy" over their obviously correctly disallowed goal ("I always think these things should be judged at normal speed" was his comment after it had been disallowed). The only controversy is why the the f**k the ref needed to see it again on VAR when it was blatant at the time. (For one horrible moment I thought VAR was going to focus on the kick out of Alisson's hands instead of the actual foul.)

Anyway, great performance, great result. Great to see Mo silence the doubters as well.

I also liked the fact we basically played a 4-4-2. Been advocating that for a while. Think it makes even more sense with Trent coming back, and it was interesting to see him coming on in the right wing position where I would like to see him get a few games, although not reading to much into that as it was so late on.

Great statement from us, and hopefully we now kick on and go on a run.
