Top players want champions league football. We don’t offer that for next season. So what top midfielders are going to come?

Arsenal have signed plenty of excellent players without it and United have tempted one of the best defensive midfielders in the world to go and play for them without CL football.

Pay them enough and they will come.

Don't you know it. The fsg book of football management will be out in Boston as we speak and they're probably gonna listen to Tim sherwood and Jamie o'never with abby gabby bunglebore tonight on talksh*te and draw up the next brendan on the block list.

Let's get Hicks and Gillette back then so ... forget Brendan, we can get Woy back, along with the likes of Konchesky, Kyriokas, Poulsen, Jovanovic.

I get everyone's frustration and things do need to change across the board, including from the owners, but if FSG did decide to sell we all need to remember that things can also get worse as well as better

VVD has escaped most of the criticism as Joe and Trent have coped it but tonight he was terrible. Asleep for the first goal, yes it was poor by Joe but the Leeds player Rodrigo was BEHIND him.

All night he was slow into the tackle and challenge. He was flat footed for their 2nd. Expected Jones and Milner to deal with it.

Mo...the greed and arrogance was breathtaking...broke through with Nunez and Bobby waiting..then tries a stupid trick and tries to flick it in with the outside of him boot..from an impossible angle....just beyond belief...deserved to lose.

I don't want new owners.  Just want our current lot to spend some of the money they've saved/accrued over the last 10 years.  We've got a lower net spend than Everton over the last 10 years.  We clearly have some money to spend on signings stashed away somewhere.  Just need to show some ambition over the next couple of windows.

And still ain’t in the champions league - takes years to recover and build a team to get back in.

      Hard to find any positives.
Even if we had got a point, or even won it, that was another poor performance.
Again the TAA/Gomez side was a problem, mainly in first half, and TAA didn't last the match.
Our shape - and calling it a 'shape' is a compliment - in the middle is not working. Diamond?! Need to go back to 4-3-3. Or something that IS a shape.
Elliot was non existent, like a small boy had wandered onto the pitch.  And Fab still looks off the pace.
Though we improved when Hendo and Jones came on, and later too when Milly came on - but up front we didn't take the chances.
Darwin, a lot of effort - but fluffed the chances he had. Mo at least got on the scoresheet, Bob was quiet apart from a couple of missed chances in toward the end.
0 points against two relegated sides, Unbelievable. And we beat Citeh !!  Bizarre.
Main thing though imho - sort the shape, the middle isn't working Jürgen.

Agree with most of that. There was no structure to our play today. (Add to that the fact we got outrun, which seems to have happened a lot this season, so I suppose we are getting used to it.) But we were like headless chickens for most of that game, there was just no control or composure or shape to our play. (And our defending was so dozy. Gomez will get the pelters, but Virgil was asleep for both goals.) We look like we've just switched off in the league. Really worrying performance that, it was like we've lost our system of playing, just chaotic, hope-for-the-best football.

Small margins though. If Bobby had scored that header moments before we would be moaning but with 3 points in the bag.

We were kind of clinging on and thinking it could get better but losing tonight at home live on telly to the nation really is the nail in the coffin for this season.

Squad is absolutely fu**ed. No idea what’s happened, but clearly it’s fu**ed. Last season seems to have broken us. Incredibly depressing to think we’ve gone from last season to this.

cant f***in stand the FSG apologist's coming to their defence Souness has just said our midfield's legs have gone and needed replacing in the summer.
HOnesty is needed Jürgen has been let down by the owners who have tried to ring too much out of these players and now we are paying the price they look like punch drunk prize fighters

Proper bad that was. The midfield is getting walked through and causing panic all over the place. Cannot expect mo and co to get you through the sh*te show. Need a revamp there without doubt to get some F***ing control back

Leeds worked harder ... ran harder and they wanted it more. And when their chance came they took it.

Jürgen knows he's in trouble and for the first time in my mind now I'm worried he won't survive until the WC.

Those pr*cks in Boston are going to come under serious fire and they've only one option to deflect it. Because they haven't got the balls to take responsibility and give their manager who has propped them up for 7 years the tools he needs to sort it out.

They dragged the king to Boston to sack him .... I'm ready for some more bs from them in the not too distant future. Though I'm sure it will be Gordon who gets given the gun whilst they hide over there.

This team is done ... in decline is being generous. When they don't want to work as hard as the opposition pretty much every week then they need breaking up.

We just never look like we're in control like we used to.
Always feels like we're a slipped pass away from the other side running in on our goal.

Sure there were bad performances, VVD seems so lethargic now and Fab too but watching the games this season it's like the coaches and manager just throw players on the pitch and say do whatever you want. There is no discipline, and when we played without discipline or desire the last few seasons they could rely on counter attacks at pace.
Trying to explain the demise this season is confusing, because it's all areas of the pitch except the goalie.
Sick of the subs that are the opposite of what is needed, need goals take off attackers and put Milner on ffs I'm so sick of it. Henderson should have been on from the start and how the hell has Elliot ended up as an actual midfielder? Like right in the middle of the pitch, so this was the plan for the season so that's why we never need new midfielders.
Because we had a pensioner football player and Henderson who is also old, wow great future planning from these experts.
We needed the next generation of midfielders here to learn off the ones we have, now it's too late to even do that.
