We are good enough offensively for 3-5 goals - also today we had our share of good opportunities - we just concede too many goals. Sounds familiar? It was the main theme before 2019.

Solution: we need a tougher midfield. When Fab and Hendo were top of their game in 2019/2020 they helped our defense by "vacuum cleaning" the midfield, i.e. re-gain lost balls, intercepting counter attacks. It made our defense two-layered. That is what we lack now. Our midfield is not creative and soft. So what we need is either a central magician like Bellingham or one/two midfield Rambos with horse lungs.

That was just one team playing better than the other team

Yellow card early on didn't help. Thiago frustrating again, doing some good things, but then mistakes, giving the ball away. And Salah just seemed to disappear.

It was poetic that Konate started and ended it all.
