Mane was a big part in covering that space left by Robbo because he was so quick to get back and he had the work rate to do it time and time again.
With Elliott playing on the left, we are never going to have that protection for Robbo going so far forward. When Diaz and Nunez play on the left, they offer the protection like Mane did but without either of those playing, Robbo really needs to restrict how far he gets forward and pick his moments more carefully.

Another square peg in a round hole. Gakpo is naturally a left sided player and given how much he’s struggling playing central, I can’t get my head around why he isn’t on the left.
