Seems like we only play Wolves and Brighton at the moment. ☺️

There was definite signs of improvement in the Brighton match until the substitutions and we just capitulated, didn’t do a lot for bringing on experience old heads to see the game out 😳

I would imagine we see the same midfield trio of Bajcetic, Thiago and Keita.

Fingers crossed Matip is fit to partner Gomez.

Hopefully Nunez starts at No9 and Gakpo left wing, otherwise I worry Kloppo has lost his mind.

      Alisson
      Trent
      Matip
      Gomez
      Robbo

      Bajcetic
      Thiago
      Keita

      Gakpo
      Nunez
      Salah

Well, it's a game that we have good enough players to win, but I can't say I'm especially confident at the moment. I've went for a 3-1 win for us for nostalgia's sake.

Said I'd like to see Doak start with Mo through the middle. Darwin down the left but coming inside as and when.

A bit horrifying looking at the defence with no Konate or VVD. I don't know what to expect but hope Nunez plays central and we stick with the same midfield.

I'd say throw Phillips in there. Gonna be a lot of crosses thrown into the box with Jimenz in there. Need aerial threat protection

It feels hard to see us winning anywhere currently.

                                   Ali

      Milner          Matip    Phillips           Robbo

                 Keita       Bajcetic       Thiago

               Elliott          Salah           Gapko

I thought Milner did a decent job there in the cup ... never let's us down.

I'm done with Gomez. I know Philips isn't the quickest but he'll put himself where it hurts ... he starts for me.

      Subs

      Kellerher
      Gomez
      Ramsay
      Trent
      Tsimikas
      Henderson
      Carvalho
      Nunez
      Doak

No place for Jones, Fabinho and Chamberlain. May as well start now.

      Hmm:

I actually don’t know what to say about this game.

Part of me thinks if Liverpool turn up like we know we can then we should stuff them but the most likely scenario is that wolves will pass around our midfield like a training ground session and will cut open our defence at will. Our strikers will have a few chances but fluff them and at least one or our defenders will make a howler.

So on the balance of probability I’m going for a comfortable wolves win. 3-1.

      Milner Philips Matip Robbo
      Keita Thiago Bajectic
      Carvahlo Gapko Elliot

Would drop Mo and Nunez, both have contributed very little in terms of goals and general link up play. Bit of a kick up the arse.  But I'd say at least 1, maybe both will start. Just don't think they deserve to.
At CB, take yer pick from Matip/Gomez/Nat. Matip not match sharp, Nat not much game time, Gomez dodgy form.
      In the middle, same as.

Bit harsh on Nunez. He scored a very well taken goal vs Wolves in the FA Cup and then he got injured. Since he has been back from injury he's been reduced to 2 sub appearances for barely even 30mins. In the 2 appearances he's looked a damn sight more dangerous than Gakpo and Salah. Not forgetting he's been putting in a shift defensively too, something that goes unnoticed is how often he's tracking back and winning back the ball for us.

Many players don't deserve to play but we don't have the luxury of dropping several players and playing a load of youngsters isn't going to help matters.
Hopefully the team kick themselves into gear.

Ali, Trent, Gomez, Matip, Kostas, Bajcetic, Thiago, Keita, Gakpo, Darwin, Salah.

Gone for Kostas because IMO Robbo had an absolute stinker vs Brighton, one of his worst performances for us, I'm amazed he managed to tie his boots right the way it was going for him. Mentally he doesn't seem great either, he keeps talking about the team letting fans down, team not playing good enough etc but isn't even getting the basics right so give him the week off from starting and get Kostas in there with his delivery.
And for the love of god, play players in their actual positions, i.e. Gakpo on the left.

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet so if we get the win, we will have to get a couple of goals at least.

Could be wrong but I’d hazard a guess and say Bobby could also be back for the derby.

Why anyone would pick fabinho is beyond me. Not just blind to fsgs failings.

He's been horrific all season. That 11 minute 'performance' at Brighton ... it was like he was trolling us. He wasn't obviously but he was completely over run by players who had been on the pitch the whole game.
