      In the current formation

             Macca                        Szoboszlai
           Gravenberch                 Elliott
             Jones

                      Thiago/Bajcetic/Endo

      Yep.

And everyone of those in the '8' roles there apart from Elliott maybe you can see playing in some sort of double pivot as well.

      Good policy in my book.

Relating to my job as a manager in hospitality if I recruit people show can, or can be trained into multiple roles, then it benefits the business

Are we gonna use Gravenberch as the 6 then instead of Endo ? Because signing him as an 8 doesn't make sense since we have: Jones, Thiago, Elliot, Macca, Szobo all competing for the same position.

Edit:  Unless we are planning early and Thiago is leaving next summer.

There is no rule that says Klopp has to play with a single plyer in the 6 role. There is nothing to stop him playing with 2 holders in a double-pivot. I would argue Mac, Thiago, Bacjetic and Gravenburch are all quite capable of this. Always good to have tactical flexibility. If this goes through it will provide another interesting option. He certainly has size and range, it looks like he has quick feet and good close control and he can also travel with the ball.

It seems odd to me that people are basically saying Thiago is a DM. Isnā€™t he more of a creative CM?

Last season his defensive play was not all that inspiring. So we are going to have Endo and Bajcetic for the DM role, and apparently Gravenberch going to be ā€œmoldedā€ into some sort of 6/8 hybrid?

Molding takes time and also desire from the player to be molded.

Seems like a lot of ā€œifā€™sā€ involved in this one.

If we were signing Andre for January I suppose Gravenberch would be a luxury signing to cover Thiagoā€™s move away.

Still think we need a CB as much or more than another mid.

Look at his metrics, when he's fit he is perfect for playing the 6 behind Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Even better if he's in a double pivot and the club uses a 1-4-2-3-1.

He is not a box to box midfielder. You obviously havenā€™t seen him play. Heā€™s a attacking midfielder although he can play centre mid, loves a pop at goal from any distance not a type of player to look for long balls plays it short and sweet

Clearly never seen him play have you? 😊

From what i have seen of him. He is okay. Bajcetic is a better player with ball on his feet, and Ryan Gravenberch is decent, there is nothing that stand out too much from him, expect his height. He is a tall lad.

Il be honest and say i havent watched too much from him, so too early to describe him as player but he is defiantly not one of those who instantly shine on the pitch. If we do get him, then i hope he does well.

Your first paragraph is a complete contradiction of your second 😂😂

Iā€™ll take your word for it. I just donā€™t remember him having the defensive impact last season that the stats apparently bear out. Either way I suppose he has to be healthy for it to matter.

Can't understand why we've left it this late. He's been talked about in the press for weeks. Either way it blows apart the myths that Klopp likes to get his targets in early / Klopp will wait for the right player etc etc. Seems like our scouting department travelled to Germany via Brighton and got their passports robbed.
Bayern weren't open to selling him until the last few days which is why it hasn't been done sooner.

According to Ā£ shop klopp he's an attacking number 8 and has come here to compete as such.

With this signing in terms of bodies we look to have depth in our midfield and plenty of options now. Defence looks a little bare to me but I'd say we are definitely finished with incomings and hopefully outgoings too.

Pleased about this one. Slightly different profile of player to the two we missed out on but he has a good pedigree and I think we can find a way to make it work for now. A pure DM will still be on our list somewhere along the line.

Looks like he thrives in the transition, turning and breaking away from opponents. He ues his body well, possesses good balance and likes a progressive pass. A good all rounder I think.
