What fsg want is for the club to be self sufficient, the problem is that means we are doing it letā€™s say ultimate hard mode to compete

For example the stadium improvements and so on prob came out of the revenues of the club or will do eventually which could have been used for players

The owners I believe of a club can also put in 30-40m (cannot remember exactly) of personal wealth which would make a big difference if we could have that every season like other big boy clubs

Itā€™s going to be very difficult to complete with clubs spending 40-50-60m extra per season than us

There is no excuse for us to be mid table in terms of spend though. Fsg wonā€™t put funds in, itā€™s as simple as that, they want the business to generate everything which simply is going to be very difficult unless we work miracles which we did prior.

Itā€™s why theyā€™re looking for investment, so we can improve the squad

30m per season makes a big difference and you can bet the reason we are spending less than half of the league is we have owners who wonā€™t invest whilst 7-8 other teams will do

However, eventually it will catch up to them, look at Leicester and wolves for example

I believe Arsenal and Chelsea will be struggling in a few years time but still the owners should be investing 30m per year as they have a multi billion pound investment ffs

We have probably the best manager on the planet who has unequalled  skills and knowledge of the game, the owners no doubt were advised of this vital information before paying a considerable amount to retain  JĆ¼rgen Klopp's services.

Unfortunately the only conclusion to be reached regarding a failure to back the manager and ultimately the club financially is FSG's sole priority is market values and financial thrift.

Hopefully we have turned a corner after last season's disappointment
and people have seen the light, Thuram could be the catalyst.

probably isnt it the lowest for of wit?. Its the truth FSG are still hurting because the EPL and UEFA won't enforce their own rules but when will they wake up and admit they are never going to. Surely these smart business people must at some point realise we will never create enough money as a club to compete with City, UTD, Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea the one thing they have had in their armoury which has allowed us to fight above our weight is JĆ¼rgen Klopp.

Been watching a lot of tapes of this lad, he has the same gait as nunez and looks an absolute menace. But also very raw.

Looks like a fun prospect, who knows if heā€™s actually a target or not. I suppose if we buy him he is a target, if we donā€™t get him weā€™ll be told he was never one of our preferred.

as the great man once said.
"Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques."
the full quote is of course
ā€œAt a football club, thereā€™s a holy trinity ā€“ the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors donā€™t come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.ā€
Seems this dosent apply to the usual devotees of JWH

Came on here to see if thereā€™s any updates on us signing Kephran Thuram and all I get is more negative opinions about JWH and FSG.

Doesnā€™t say anything. Itā€™s just an internal discussion. We want to see us discussing with the sellers about the purchase and with the player about personal terms.

Iā€™d have been really surprised if weā€™d have signed him as well as Lavia.

Seeing Ā£60m valuation for him vs Ā£40m valuation for Lavia. Itā€™s pretty obvious who is the cheaper option, and having sunk in the funds for two midfielders already.

      Long shot.

Donā€™t think it had anything to do with who costs more, we have a greater need for a defensive minded mid.

Have to agree with that at this stage, as long as Mac and Dominik can be the creators ahead of him.

Still love to see Thuram here as well
