Well Jürgen bought a 6 ... a 6 who just looked like a destroyer against Germany so why isn't he playing? Square peg in a round hole really and hopefully Macca won't have to be there much longer.

Perhaps Endo was more fatigued than Mac on his return

think the performance second half showed some lads were just having to readjust after international games it happens most times so it was an even better result than it appears.

Hes been very silly Alexis there and should know better to be honest. It was very clearly 15 players with the 3 blokes in the VAR truck also ensuring spurs won.

its clear that the people running the game are not up to it and lack basic understanding of people if they have a go at Macca.

I only listened to the Forest game on Radio and watched highlights so it's difficult for me to comment on his performance yesterday but I'll make a few general comments on his performance this season. There have been quite a few people criticising him or suggesting he's being played out of position.
I really like what I've seen so far from him. Because he came from Brighton and is a world cup winner he was the midfielder who arrived with more pressure on him to perform immediately. We were all probably going to give Szoboszlai and Gravenberch more time to adapt.
I think we all assume that he's being played out of position but it's also possible that Klopp wants him to play a deeper  role and had discussed it with Alexis before signing him. Klopp has often moved players into deeper roles in the team, Trent, Curtis Jones, Gakpo and Elliot are some other examples. I think he could be a good long term option as a 6. We still need an Endo or Andre in the squad; in an ideal world we have 7 or 8 quality midfielders with different attributes so that Klopp can play different combinations depending on the opposition.

I think Alexis has the potential to replace Thiago in the starting 11, sitting deeper, linking play and controlling the tempo as well as taking on a more defensive midfielder role than Thiago. He already a better tackler than Thiago.

He's also the cheapest of the summer midfield arrivals, a bargain at 35m.

Me and my brother said same at the match, he's starting to grow into the role. If that's how we're going to play going forward, the real test will be when we play City next month.

Against City I suspect there will be someone next to Gary Mac - if Bajectic is fit it will be him or even Endo

Don’t expect to see both Dom and Grav to both be playing

He's definitely growing into the role. I still don't think he has the physical attributes to play as a 6, neither through raw physicality or through speed.

If he keeps improving I can definitely see it working against lesser sides, but I wish we had a real alternative for a 6 with a stronger defensive presence.

I hope Endo grows into it, Fabinho took a long while to get up to speed with our system. Fingers crossed.

As some said definately looked more comfortable . A quality 6 you will notice against better sides thought Forest were awful and never really tested him.. The acid test will be against Arsenal and City you will have a better idea then

Nope don’t even need a quality side to test a player uncomfortable in a position he is not suited for.
