First 4 or 5 games I'd say the important thing are the 3 points. There is bad and good stuff we could go over, but I think its normal to see the team looking for itself in those first few games.

I criticized Trent in the first half, but to be fair I think the players are all still adjusting to this new system, new teammates, new season, etc.

3 points in, job done. Lets focus on the next one.

Weird ain’t. We dominated lots of that game, yet could have been 2 down in first 10 mins.
Everyone done well for 70mins, but it’s the other 20 that scared the sh*t outa me!

Hoping we’re gonna start games with a bit more fluency going forward. I know it’s early days for the new fellas and we will improve. But we will get punished by better sides  and not recover if we keep this up.
      Gone for dom for motm.
Hoping the injuries to Trent and Diaz are fixed for next week.
3 points in the bag is what counts for now.

Just call it corrupt because that’s what it is.

      That was never a red

surprisingly I did see one publication that said it was dangerous play and gave the REF no choice I think we all know who that is.

Opposite of the Chelsea match. We were brilliant the first 25 minute against a good side but then lost our rhythm after Salah's disallowed goal.

Today, it was the total opposite. We were sh*t the first 20 minutes but from VVD's post, we were on them throughout even with 10 men. They got back after the 90th minute but Alisson was as usual spot on.

Alisson needs to improve his sweeper keeper attributes.

Dominik, what a player. Athletic, trickery and solid.

What I liked about Endo is that he was not afraid to ask for the ball.

I agree doesn’t matter but you highlighted it. 😂  On my app ( which is Sky ) showing you lot 3rd.

Yes we have problems and yes we need the Oily’s. Why do you think I wouldn’t bet £50 with Billy Buster we’d finish above you lot.   :lmao:

Hit with the goal early and it went to Bouremouth's leg, took it to us but we rode it out and after we controlled the game pretty well. Even with 10 men we looked a threat to score without giving too much away.

Good to see all the front three scoring, going to need them to be fit and firing if we want to break the top 4. Diaz in particular was really a threat.

On to stiff test next week away to Newcastle

First 5 or 6 games are crucial for a successful season,  our start last year saw us in all sorts by Oct/Nov.
The start today didn't impress at all, 20 minutes of mayhem luckily we didn't go 2 down  , the other 70 impressed even more so when down  to 10 men .
Whoever  we bring in needs to hit the ground running come the end of September lets see how the points add up and how we perform.

      Just watched the game.

We were asleep to start and shot ourselves in the foot by gifting them an early goal.  We grew into the game, but I thought the goal from Lucho was critical as it gave the lads and the crowd a confidence boost.  The pen was extremely soft, but I won't complain.  The red was extremely harsh.  I thought we could be vulnerable at only 2-1 and down to 10 men, but Jota (my motm) popped up and got us a cushion goal at a critical moment.

Szobo, Konate, and Jota were all boss!!  I went DJ for MOTM as he scored a critical goal and got am assist.  I also thought his general play was very good the whole game.  Szobo is going to be a special player though.  Once the team finds a groove and he gets completely settled he is going to light up the Prem!!

Last week a Chelsea defender palmed the ball, this week Macca gets Red for a 50/50 challenge. I mean if that's the norm this season the Refs will need a pack of red cards.

Trent comes inside, inverted or whatever you want to call it, so he should more ready to accept a pass in that position. OK VVD should've pushed it over to Konate but still.

Quite disjointed but loads of positives.

Szobo is looking really good, Endo was solid and Diaz looks like he is kicking on now and ready to take that next step.

Can't quite believe Mac Allister's red to be honest, it was a yellow at most. That coupled with not getting than pen last weekend and it's already looking like we'll be up against 12 (or 13 with VAR) most weekends.

Planning to leave Mo on the bench and play Diaz, Nunez and Jota with no concrete position for all 3....won't but I want more from Mo.

it is a worry just seen Gordon put his studs down the back of a city player but just a yellow. We need to start winning by 2 and 3 goals these f***in clowns could ruin a teams season

Probably be Tierney as ref next week with Anthony Taylor or Chris kavanagh on var . And it will be the same bs and us getting screwed over.

In rugby, cricket etc they've got the system right and there is impartiality.  Complete opposite in football and everybody knows it.

Need to appeal the red. What's happened tonight just makes our complaint stronger. Even a yellow would have been harsh.
