This should be a real test of our new system because no doubt Newcastle at home are a tough nut, even away from home they don’t concede many goals.

Endo should come in for this one, you don’t sign 30 year olds to slowly bed them in and besides he will be needed as the Toon are a strong physical side with players like Joelinton.
Think we might have to play a bit more conservatively than our hung ho style meaning Robbo doesn’t go charging up on every attack.
They have pace up front on the counter.

Can’t see Nunez starting should be between Jota and Gakpo who leads the line.

      VVD
      Trent
      Konate
      VVD
      Robbo

      Endo
      Szobo
      Mac

      Salah
      Gakpo
      Diaz

Honestly think Nunez should start up front. He's physical and likes a fight. Plus his speed could help us on the counter if we do sit in defensively a little bit.

Yes I think his pace could hurt them. Good in the air as well. My front 3 Diaz Nunez Salah. Even if he doesn't start he should be on after 60. Leaving him 5/6 minutes at the back end of a game doesn't give him much chance.

That would be my team also mate.

Some are clamouring for Nunez but I do find his inconsistent touch frustrating. I'd like to see Gakpo in the false 9 position. Hr had a good game there last time.

I am worried about the game though. They rolled over a decent Villa side who have since gone on to score 10-0 in their next two games.

I think Endo will start this one and it will give us an indication as to whether he is bargain basement panic buy or hidden gem.

I'd take a draw all day.

Yeah it's no coincidence is it.

I hope Klopp points this out after we beat the bas**rds.

                 Ali
      TAA Konate VVD Robbo
        Dom Alexis Endo
         Mo Jota Diaz

Amazing to think we could very likely start a completely new midfield.
Lucky MacAllisters red card was rolled back and he can play.
Am sure toon will focus on TAAs side if he's going to be pushing up.
Be interesting to see if Endo starts, would imagine he has a good chance. Don't like Gapko in the middle anyway.
In the middle, toss up between Gapko and Jota, would prob go Jota for the goal chances.

This is a proper test, against a more settled team, who finished ahead of us last year, away from home.  Will see better where we're at.

Would probably settle for a draw. But in these games against this lot, could be anything.

Endo has a full week with the squad, I expect him to start instead of Cody. Looking forward to seeing Alexis moved forward a bit. I think we have someone who will rival De Bruyne as the best midfielder in the league in Dominik. I'd prefer to keep a back 4 as much as possible in this game. Really looking forward to it.

Mate, I loved Gomez but I swear he made so many mistakes last season. It’ll be a tough watch.

There were a lot of mistakes from players last season -

It’s a fresh season now , he looked solid last week when he came on

The guy is quality - just needs a run going
