Immensely talented young kid. Hope he gets the time to grow and we don't depend on him too soon.

Impressive professional and calm first start.  A few similar performances and the grass will seem greener for our centre halves.

I thought he was excellent, slightly nervy start but really grew into the game. Maybe this is why we didn’t buy a centre half in the window

Matip played the full 100 minutes or whatever and Quansah played 83 (and went off at 1-1) so reflect that in the stats - but have to say - thought he had a pretty impressive debut for a 20 year old centre back in the Premier League.   Fingers crossed.

      Quansah Season!

Tentative start but kept it simple and cleared the danger when under pressure.

      And played some nice passes.

Nice debut. I would play him next Thursday next to VVD so to rest Matip and Konate.

Did more than enough to earn a few more starts and given the injury history he will more than likely be called upon often.

That's exactly why I decided that he needed his own thread. He did look composed in the preseason games he featured in.
With us not strengthening in the defensive department during the summer also, it looked like Jarell was being primed for the match day bench at least...
I'm looking forward to watching him again on Thursday night in Austria. He's a definite starter in my eyes....

Andy Robertson had plenty to say about Jarell Quansah after Liverpool’s 3-1 win at Wolves on Saturday.

With Virgil van Dijk suspended and Trent Alexander-Arnold injured, the 20-year old was called up for his first Premier League start for the Reds and he didn’t disappoint.

“Excellent from the big man,” said Robertson, who was stand-in captain on the day. “I don’t think many of us helped him in the first half, which, when you’ve got experienced players around, you probably look for help more,” the left-back said.

“We tried to protect him but I think as a collective unit we weren’t as good in the first half, but he was very assured, done his defending very well and then on the ball he was cool and calm.

“He has got a bright future ahead of him but the here and now is pretty good as well and for him to step in at a really tough place to come, a really tough team to play against, and to put in that performance, particularly in the second half, then fair play to him for his first start.”

The young man barely put a foot wrong last night. A very calm and assured performance, well done....

Sometimes it becomes clear why we didn't spend X amount of millions on a new player from another club.

This could be another one of those moments.

Yep, only reason club didn't buy a new CB over the Summer is they knew Jarell is a gem.

there isnt a manager or scout in the world that can declare the future of a very young players after a couple of games and neither should they and JĂźrgen will make sure he is given time to develop over a couple of seasons or more so it had no affect on the summer window that is just wishful thinking.  He is a big unit for sure and quick too lets not pile pressure on him to soon.

The tackle, the burst and the pass for the third goal by Jota. Yes please, we'll have some more of that young Quansah....
