Elsewhere at Raiffeisen Arena, Stefan Bajcetic returns to the line-up, as does Virgil van Dijk following suspension.

There are also starts for Wataru Endo, Caoimhin Kelleher and Ibrahima Konate in Linz.

Bajectic is playing as a right-back? Nice to see him play as well as Elliott and Doak.

Though I can see the value of playing a strong side early in this tournament and getting it wrapped up ASAP, I love what the boss is doing here. Sue to suspensions and injury we are having to play our top 2 CBs to get them acclimated, and therefore we have the best two to protect this rotation.

Fact of the matter is this is deepest team Klopp has had in some time, maybe ever. Our 2nd squad looks pretty darn good.

Bajcetic as the inverted full back interesting.

Looks a decent starting 11 but how experienced is Bajcetic at full back or the inverted full back ?
He may become a target of their attack due to his lack of experience there.

The way the team is listed suggest it'll be Bajcetic in the hybrid role and he's certainly young enough to try it.
Doesn't hurt that he was a defender before being moved into midfield.

Brilliant we have Bacjetic back but never seen him as a RB, I had to double take and look at the lineup again, I thought for a mo Jürgen had switched to a back 3 with Konate Virgil & Kostas, then I seen Endo and that put a endo to that notion, F**k off,  had to get a joke in somewhere 😁

People will see that X1 and say Jürgen can’t be serious about this comp, he’s left out our main protagonists, but we’re playing Lask who are probably better known for Yodelling than football, other multi drop couriers are available 🤣,

I don’t think we are in any real danger but I always prefer to get the job done first then we can rotate all we want, but hey I’m a knobhead and not Manager of the Greatest bestest Football Club ever in the history of Football,
