Liverpool make one alteration to their last Premier League line-up for this evening's clash at Tottenham Hotspur.

Cody Gakpo replaces Darwin Nunez in the only tweak made to the team deployed in the 3-1 win over West Ham United last Sunday.

In total, the Reds make nine changes from Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie with Leicester City, with only Gakpo and Curtis Jones retaining their places in the XI.

Trent Alexander-Arnold returns to the squad and is named on the bench.

Gakpo, you can do it my son!!

I would have played Nunez instead of Gakpo but Gakpo offers more defensively against Spurs.

Yeah pace may be an issue for us.

Said it before though, sitting back just a couple of yards gives them less space to attack. Also gives Ali a bit more cover.

Would have liked Nunez to start

Was annoyed at first with no Nunez but thinking about it, him, Jota & Trent off the bench is frightening.

Would've started with Nunez but he's a big threat in the last 30 or so. Cody will drop deep, almost false No 9. Matip over Konate. Pace of Son could hurt us.

If we come out laboured like we have done the past few games no doubt we’ll be chasing the game all half

They no doubt have watched our recent games , and seen how vulnerable we’ve been to the early counter.
So let’s surprise them, and not go hung ho from the off  !
