      FYI...

Trent Alexander-Arnold is part of the England group for two games at Wembley. The Three Lions host Australia in a friendly on October 13 before meeting Italy in Euro 2024 qualifying on October 17.

At U21 level, Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah will be with the Young Lions – the latter for the first time – as they contest a pair of U21 European Championship qualifiers. England take on Serbia at the City Ground on October 12 before facing Ukraine in Slovakia on October 16.

Andy Robertson is set to captain Scotland as they meet Spain in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Seville on October 12, with an away friendly against Ibrahima Konate’s France to follow on October 17.

Ben Doak is part of Scotland’s U21s squad for a home double-header in the U21 European Championship preliminaries. They face Hungary on October 13 and Malta four days later.

Konate will be on opposite sides of a Reds teammate for both of his country’s fixtures, with France to first tackle Virgil van Dijk’s Netherlands in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Amsterdam on October 13.

And the same is true for Van Dijk as the Dutch follow that game with another qualifier, against Kostas Tsimikas and Greece in Athens three days later. Greece precede that by travelling to Dublin to face the Republic of Ireland on October 13.

Dominik Szoboszlai will be skippering Hungary for two Euro 2024 qualifiers: at home to Serbia on October 14 and away to Lithuania on October 17.

Also preparing for back-to-back qualifying games are Diogo Jota and Portugal, who will host Slovakia on October 13 and then travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 16.

Mohamed Salah links up with Egypt for friendlies against Zambia (October 12) and Algeria (October 16) in the UAE, while Wataru Endo is called up to the Japan squad that will have home matches against Canada (October 13) and Tunisia (October 17).

Darwin Nunez was on the scoresheet and provided an assist as Uruguay beat Brazil 2-0 in their World Cup qualifier overnight.

The 24-year-old's first-half header set his side on their way to a vital victory in Montevideo, and Nunez later set up his side's second goal for Nicolas de la Cruz in equally impressive fashion.

Liverpool teammate Alisson Becker was an unused substitute for Brazil in the game.

Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, played 90 minutes as Argentina defeated Peru 2-0 in Lima, courtesy of two Lionel Messi goals, to maintain their perfect start to CONMEBOL World Cup qualification.

Luis Diaz also played 90 minutes, unfortunately seeing a second-half penalty saved as Colombia drew 0-0 with Ecuador in Quito.

      Trent unused sub England.

      Good news this.......

Jürgen Klopp has explained how Liverpool have tried to protect their South American players from fatigue ahead of another early kick-off following an international break.

The Reds were also given the dreaded 12.30pm time slot when they travelled to Wolves after September’s round of national team fixtures, and elected to leave both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez bench as a result.

Alexis Mac Allister started that game at Molineux despite having made a gruelling journey to Argentina, but had to be replaced at the break after a leggy first-half performance.

Fortunately, Liverpool have taken steps to avoid a repeat when they take on Everton at Anfield on Saturday, with Klopp sharing the details at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Klopp explained: “We tried the first time but it didn’t work out because of miscommunication with other clubs. [This time] we booked better flights, brought them all together.

“[We] picked them up wherever they played so they didn’t have to take the commercial flight from here to there, which is obviously pretty tiring after 100 minutes of football then they leave you at an airport and you have to make sure you get your connecting flight.

“We are pretty good at that usually because we obviously had enough opportunities to practise it.

“This time, it was much better. The boys were, pretty quickly after the game, on a plane and could fly straight to England. That makes a massive difference.

“What we can do, we always try to do. First time it didn’t work out because it’s pretty expensive, you cannot pay all these planes alone all the time, so usually we share it with other clubs.

“This time it worked out pretty well.”

Diaz, Nunez, Mac Allister and Alisson were all involved in training on Thursday this week, whereas after the last international break they did not return to Kirkby until the Friday.

Liverpool have been handed the early Saturday kick off TV slot for BT Sport / TNT Sports more than double of any other club in the last five seasons.

      FYI. stolen from thisisanfield

Liverpool have seen 18 players from their senior squad called up for international duty in November, though 10 others miss out – including those injured.

The Reds signed off before the final international break of the year with a 3-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield.

It was much-needed after frustrating results against both Luton and Toulouse, with Jürgen Klopp and his players now taking momentum into their clash with Man City.

Before the trip to the Etihad, though, will be various qualifiers and friendlies around the world, with 18 first-team players called up.

Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo are both in the Netherlands squad, which will see them come up against Caoimhin Kelleher‘s Republic of Ireland.

Alisson will join up with Brazil, and will be No. 1 after Ederson pulled out injured, while Alexis Mac Allister and Darwin Nunez also travel to South America with Argentina and Uruguay.

Joining the long-haul journey is Luis Diaz, who returns to Colombia for the first time since the emotional rescue of his parents from kidnappers.

Mohamed Salah will travel the other direction to Africa, as captain of Egypt, while Wataru Endo heads back to Japan.

Closer to home, Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only Liverpool player in the England squad, while Dominik Szoboszlai (Hungary), Diogo Jota (Portugal) and Kostas Tsimikas (Greece) also have games in Europe.

At youth level, Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah are with the England U21s alongside loanee Tyler Morton.

Luke Chambers is part of the England U20s while Calum Scanlon rejoins the England U19s, with Ben Doak called up to the Scotland U21s.

Marcelo Pitaluga joins the Brazil U23s for the first time, Owen Beck and Tom Hill are with the Wales U21s, Kieran Morrison is part of the Northern Ireland U19s and Trent Kone-Doherty the Republic of Ireland U19s.

Liverpool also have young striker Keyrol Figueroa representing the United States at the U17 World Cup in Indonesia, with another four players at the U16s Victory Shield.

Wales called up Prince Kobe Cisse and Jayden Allmark for that tournament, while Harry Moran is with the Northern Ireland group and Cameron Williams with Scotland.

The majority of the first-team players not on duty were unavailable due to injury, including the latest absentee Ibrahima Konate.

Senior players: Alisson, Kelleher, Van Dijk, Quansah, Alexander-Arnold, Tsimikas, Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Elliott, Salah, Nunez, Diaz, Jota, Gakpo, Doak

Youth and loanees: Pitaluga, Chambers, Scanlon, Beck, Morton, Hill, Morrison, Kone-Doherty, Figueroa

Ffs, did anyone else say ‘Holy sh*t’ reading how many of our players are away, does other clubs have so many called up, anyone??
What I really want to know is how many of those internationals mean something ? How many are just meaningless and irrelevant ?

All leading to my main gripe which is…..we have a pivotal match V City in yet another early KO, this match albeit early in the campaign is still a major factor in where the title could ultimately be decided, IF some of our players no matter their Nationality and where they’re playing get injured while on Int duty, that’s bad enough, but were it to happen in a meaningless game would really Boil my Piss,

For me at the end of the day it’s the league matches that take precedence, or should, and in particular a match of this magnitude against City, we’re not in a title race against the likes of Fulham or Brentford with respect, but we f***in are with the fraudulent lot,

We’ve seen how the fixtures list can be manipulated to suit (especially by/for broadcasting) so why have a match, when the broadcaster knows neither team will be at their optimum, and most likely not bring about the usual high standards of such a pivotal match, why not later the same day for example, why so f***in early, is it because of a clash of interests ie Sky ?

……….Let’s just remind ourselves that football was invented before television ………

If so isn’t that the tail wagging the f***in dog ? Yes I know I get it, there are probably more armchair fans spunking their well earned coin on tv subscription compared to match going fans, all of us being ripped f***in off,

If it’s a case of a clash with another broadcaster then just get it on (later) than 12.30 and let’s see who wins, look this is all about money of course it is, but getting back to my main point, looking at how many of our players are away I’d be definitely withdrawing one or three of our key players, especially if their only playing some pointless meaningless friendly !!

Id imagine city have a similar number.

It means were doing something right to have so many players called up.

Also and I cant believe I agree with this man, but noel Gallagher was on talkshite the other day, and he was asked about the early ko. weve known its all about TV rights, but he reckons its specifically because LFC have such a massive Asian\worldwide fanbase the early Saturday KO suits them. Makes sense :(

so again we are suffering becuase of our success.

And tbf to noel he also made he pint that we have all made that it means the 2 top teams cant play their best teams at that ko or even play the best footi they can. so its rubbish viewing. DOH !!

Very frustrating but they have some.probelms as well with Alvarez and Ederson although I am sure Ederson has withdrawn ??

TBF, its usually the south americans that are worst hit, sometimes not returning till thursday.

The rest will be back start of week or wednesday at worst.

Last time we shared a private jet or 2 with other clubs for south american lads, imagine we will do same again.
