Gone for Szoboszlai for man of the match but thought they were all, Tsimikas possibly apart, very good.

Virgil van Dijk didn't break a sweat all game - looking much better than last season.

Thought the same regarding Virgil. Maybe it was the opponent but he did very much look like the “easy as you please” Virgil of old.

I was just saying that maybe we should qualify our expectations of MacAllister with what he is good at not what WE think he's good at or capable of doing.

I'm not totally convinced. But Dom apart I could say the same for a few more in the squad. We haven't hit top form and yet we are nicely placed and if VAR and the Ref V Spurs had done their job we'd be even better off. But yes it's too early to call MacAllister on way or the other.

Some were calling Nunez early on, but now he looks a serious threat every game.

Not sure how anyone can question MacA.

You don’t want win a World Cup if you’re substandard.

There’s no coincidence that we are a much better team with Dom and MacA in the team. With Grav also in the mix, it’s almost insane.

Well every player who has signed for this club goes through intense scrutiny. It's early days for Maca and despite his history he doesn't get a bye.

He was literally 8/10 yesterday - what are you talking about.

You know what I'm talking about. I'm not referring to an isolated game.

As it is, he was slow in that game too

Paul Pogba did and he wasn't good enough to even be substandard.

Mac Allister is a good player and is improving with every passing game in my opinion but just because he won the World Cup doesn't make him a great player.

Does the truth hurt.  :lmao: Without going through the stats I’m pretty sure there’s many players that have World Cup medals are far from world class. Don’t you ever think before you post. 🤦‍♂️ Your rose tints are more blinkered than a horses blinkers  :lmao:

Winning a World Cup doesn’t guarantee a player is good enough

Ffs we had Traore winning a CL and he was sh*te

But Gary Mac has proved himself in the prem and he is doing well for us

Some imo are expecting something that he doesn’t do maybe

MacAllister will come under further scrutiny. One of the reasons we have been in contention for more years than any other team in this country is because the fans DEMAND the best.

No disrespect to Roy Hodgson, but he bought in players who were not, in some cases, Liverpool standard. We let him know, it was not a case of "You'll never walk alone" it was a case of LFC staying at the top.

At the minute MacAllister gets my support. That's where YNWA comes in, but if he drops way below what's required he will be harshly criticised, no question. Vast majority will take the same stance. Similarly down the years the club takes the same stance. If your signed, you'll get more than a fair chance to prove yourself, if you fall short then you will have limited opportunities. Then it's up to the player.

I mean MacAllister is no bust but I expected more. Szobo does everything what Mac does plus he has physical presence, so Szobo > MacAllister. I’d think right now Jones = MacAllister and thats no compliment for old Mac.

For F**k sake, Traore is an extreme example.

Mac was incredible during the World Cup, was incredible for Brighton and has had a superb start for us.

Why is this even a debate, some strange fans on here.

Far from it, stop talking  drabble with many of your comments. Stop saying everything that isn’t Liverpool is sh*te. A little more conservative with your comments won’t have so many of your own fans ( let alone me ) calling you out on them.
