BREAKING: Jürgen Klopp to leave Liverpool at the end of 2023/24 season

Groundwork for Alonso needs to start now.

What an absolute privilege it has been to follow Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool FC, at Anfield or in Basel, Madrid, Paris - some of the best days of my life right there.

I am heartbroken but he's earned the right to leave on his terms, and if you read or watch his interview, it's easier to understand where he's coming from. He'll go with our gratitude - before then we just need to enjoy every second of being Klopp's team, and hopefully lift a few more trophies.

Jürgen told the club in November, so I'm sure they'll have been working on a replacement long before today.

For us as fans, it's time to enjoy the last few months we have with Jürgen at the helm rather than worry what will or won't happen afterwards.

Literally having the worst day at work, ready to quit, coming off an illness and I come outside for a breather and read this 

My stomach dropped when I saw the news, I feel sick… it was always going to come but I didn’t expect now… what a legend… I don’t even know what to say to be honest, I’m in shock.

Of all the people to break this news to me it was a F***ing Everton fan, I thought he was on a wind up!

Risky strategy telling us now, hopefully it spurs the fans on that extra mile in games and we reap the benefits come the end of the season.

I remember watching him last season and thinking would he walk?  He obviously couldn't turn around the ship at Dortmund at the end and I think that was probably a big regret for him.

It must have been a massive relief the early months of this season that he has turned us around practically in one summer and that he can leave us with a competitive side going forward.

Still, absolutely enormous shoes to fill and we're going to need somebody with a big pair of bollocks to take over.

He'll probably have a bit of time off and then coach Germany I would have thought.  Depends on how much he misses the club football - I suspect unless someone wants to pay him a gazillion pound a week then he might have a sabbatical.

Even seeing him manage Barca, real, juve etc will be devastating
