      Any formation you want

What is the best 11 in Jurgens time as manager? Will be a few very obvious picks for everyone but put success to the side and maybe any ill feelings to some who left and go with a football based thought processand see what we end up with

I put Milner in originally but then replaced him with Gini. Milner deserves to be in that team but oddly it's his very best attribute - his ability to play anywhere and everywhere, that kept him out. Ultimately something very unique about Gini - I couldn't leave him out.

I'd love to see all those players back on the field together in some sort of charity game in future.

It's the classic Jürgen team. Only player I could really think of putting in there, instead of maybe Gini, is Lallana, who I think was underrated for us under Jürgen. But in the end you'd still have to go Gini.

A mental stat that somebody posted on here a couple of years ago (don't have a source for it but I remember checking it at the time, so pretty sure it's right) was that in the season we won the CL, and got 97 points in the league, that classic Jürgen line-up only played together once. And it was in the CL final.

But on a pure football mindset I dony think it is. Have we had more gifted players then Thiago or Coutinho?  Was Milners importance in a 7 year period not as much or more then Henderson or Gini?

No as Hendo, Gini and Fab is the midfield mainly that won us the league.

What did Thiago offer? Yeah talented player but barely played.

Coutinho didn’t even last long under Klopp.

      Can’t see past Lall’s X1,

Alisson, Trent, Matip, Virgil, Robbo, Fabinho, Gini, Hendo, Bobby, Mane, Salah,

……with extra special mention to Jimmy Milner who’s contribution cannot be understated, it’s unbelievable what that fella put in shift after shift in numerous positions, at a age where he outshone some of his peers half his age, incredible player and he’s still at it at Brighton!!

It’s hard to argue that this was Jürgen’s finest team, solid defensively, strong powerful midfield, & devastating attacking player’s, the balance was perfection, pace, tempo, the ultimate in gegenpress with every player attuned with each other, 60-70 yard cross field passes, the intricacies of Bobby Firmino with his flips and tricks, Sadio Mane with his pace and killer instinct left, Salah with his magical feet and goal scoring phenomenon, right,

At the back Alisson Becker, the Worlds best keeper, Trent AA, the ultimate attacking full back with wizard passing ability,  and dead ball specialist, Andy Robertson a £8m flop turned sensational attacking left back who makes the Duracell bunny look like a Cnut and sandwiched in between Joel Matip a free signing solid defender who’s foray’s up the pitch were reminiscent of a certain Jocky Hansen, and of course our current captain fantastic and the worlds best CB Virgil Van Djik,

In front of them Fabinho, who for me was the best DM in the league, and the engine room of Gini Wijnaldom & Captain Jordan Henderson who covered every blade of grass on our hallowed turf, ….

It’s no coincidence we haven’t been the same team since Gini & Mane went, we simply didn’t replace their quality, but that team, and what a team Conquered all of Europe, as well as the EPL, some will argue it’s up there as the best ever, but that’s a different debate altogether !!

For me the side that won the European Cup then the title the next season along with all those other cups IS Jürgen Klopps Liverpool so I can't look past that.

      Allison

      Trent     Matip     Virgil     Robertson

      Fabinho

      Henderson       Gini

      Salah           Firmino          Mane

I know they didn't play each and every game together but that's Jurgens reds for me.

His form did drop off a cliff at the end but he'd far more than one good season.

Fab, Hendo and Thiago have no place in it.

Who would you have in midfield then?

Fabinho was as good as any defensive midfielder on the planet for a 3 year period and was integral for us.

Find it astonishing that you wouldn't have Henderson in it either. One of our best ever captains and the fact he was a regular when we won it all says enough.

Thiago I get, I think those including him in their XI are maybe looking at natural talent alone and if we were judging on that alone then yes he would make the midfield.

Dude turned into Salah in 22 when Mo went off to Afcon. Kid was scoring every week and playing lockdown D in the middle.

Fabinho was difficult to replace and Endo wasn't really thought of in the first instance as replacement. Was a good few weeks before Endo staked his claim and my guess is the staff were pleasantly surprised. That allowed Mac to play the more advanced role but Fabinho was top draw.

Picks itself IMO, midfield has to be Fab, Hendo and Gini. Special mention to Milner and Origi. I wonder how many of the current squad will go on to make us think they could have been in a best Jürgen XI. Macca defo has the potential.
