      December fixtures
      Nov 24, 2007 03:19:09 pm
Just noticed we have 8 games in December.  Here's hoping all the players stay fit for those frosty grounds up and down the country.

Here's the list. (I know we still have Porto this month)

      Premiership in bold

      Sunday, 02 December 2007 Liverpool v Bolton, 15:00   Last Season won 3-0
      Saturday, 08 December 2007 Reading v Liverpool, 15:00    Last Season won 2-1
      Tuesday, 11 December 2007 UEFA Champions League Marseille v Liverpool, A, 19:45
Sunday, 16 December 2007 Liverpool v Man Utd, 13:30   Last Season lost 1-0
Wednesday, 19 December 2007 Carling Cup Chelsea v Liverpool, QF, 19:45
      Saturday, 22 December 2007 Liverpool v Portsmouth, 15:00   Last Season drew 0-0
Wednesday, 26 December 2007 Derby v Liverpool, 15:00   Last Season won 3-0 against Watford
Sunday, 30 December 2007 Man City v Liverpool, 16:00   Last Season drew 0-0

Six Premiership games and quite a few tricky ones in there.  Man City are a much better side than last time around.  We won 3 of these 6 (I have used Watford last year for Derby this) last year.

Last December we actually won 5 of our 6 Premiership games in that month - scoring 14 goals and conceding only once - but we had a much easier month.

We really will know a lot about our Premiership chances after this month.

This is the month where we should see the effects of the much talked about "rotation policy".
It would be great if we could achieve the same sort of results that we got last year but it looks unlikely.

to be honest with you if we can get Risse to kick the sh*t out of Evra ;D ..I dont see why we cant take all the points from this fixture list. I thought Bolton were great yesterday and really got stuck into em, when we played them at home last season, I was sat in the kop and my most memorable moment of the game was where Shrek was moaning and berating the ref about Carras hard tackling all he did all game in fact was moan like a spoilt kid na ref hes not letting me play whahahaha. This is the sort of game you have to play against teams like the scum and the gooners, get in their face and dont let them play and be really really physical. Having said that though Pompey are a frustrating team to play against as of late, and as for Man City its gonna be interesting playing against a team of schizophrenics, they have had some good results especially against the scum, but that 6-0 defeat against the chavs had me kinda puzzled.

We could pretty much crush the opponents. The key ones are Man U, Man City and maybe Anelka

The game against Man U will be on a day when Arsenal play Chelsea...so it's the big 4 day again. No more injury time goals from Rio F please!

If you are relating to the home game last season it was O'Shea wasnt it DM?

I have been waiting for that Scum game all season, i have a really good feeling. If we had Torres in the above mentioned game last season we would have won so easily. Here's hoping he is fit and on fire along with everyone else.

If we could take all three points of them on the 16th that would be the bast christmas present ever. I work in Edinburgh and the office is full of Manc fans and Ive got bets with them all!

The Manure game will be interesting as ever.

The clash with United on the 16th stands out for many reasons. Its a clash of title contenders and bitter rivals but most importantly is a chance to gain an advantage in the title race. The perfect run in to that game would be wins allround...qualification for Europe and a winning streak in the league. Looking at the upcoming games it is very likely that we should be in such a position when Manure come to town...I can't wait.

      Saturday, 08 December 2007 Reading v Liverpool, 15:00    Last Season won 2-1 Lost 3-1
Sunday, 16 December 2007 Liverpool v Man Utd, 13:30   Last Season lost 1-0 Same again - lost 1-0
      Saturday, 22 December 2007 Liverpool v Portsmouth, 15:00   Last Season drew 0-0 Won 4-1
Wednesday, 26 December 2007 Derby v Liverpool, 15:00   Last Season won 3-0 against Watford  Won 2-1
      Sunday, 30 December 2007 Man City v Liverpool, 16:00   Last Season drew 0-0 Same again - 0-0

I wasn't messing when I said it was a tricky month.  1 point less on the season analysis.  3 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw in December is NOT the form of a team who wants to win the title.

Here's hoping for a better January.
