Martin Škrtel (Liverpool -> Fenerbahce)

He is a brilliant player by the looks of things. Very strong & very quick to handle big Premiership strikers such as Drogba. I liked his run late on in the game when he took the ball out of defense and went to attack in the final third all by himself. Agger does this but not like Skrtel did against West Ham.

I was only one of a few who was telling everyone to give Skrtel a chance after the Havant & Waterloovill game.

So now whats going to happen? Agger & Skrtel ? Agger & Carragher? Skrtel & Carragher? I feel that Hyypia is back up at its best now...

It was obvious he wasnt going to be a bad player even after the H & W game. Not hard to tell if someone has talent after their first game and you have to look at both the good and bad of their game whereas everyone tends to focus on the negative.

You cant really judge a player on just one match anyway.

He was not match fit when he joined (close season for him) ...remember that H&W must of felt like a pre-season game for him.

Bloody fit fella he is... looks like he could play 4 games back to back and still not build up a sweat!

It's all that hockey training... hope he doesn't do too well because Hicks might asset strip (before he leaves) and whisk him off to his Hockey team ;0)

Yeah thats what i mean, he clearly wasnt match fit and it only took him one game to get match fit haha.

People do worry abit too much with new players by thinking they are not good after just one match.

Yes all quite on the Western Front, dont think they were Rafa Knockers just temporary post Istanbul "fans", that have no appreciation of what this great club represents.

This guy is really starting to look cheap.  He looks like the complete defender.  When Agger is fit they could really provide an awesome springing board to launch attack out of defence.

I don't know which scout picked this player out but he deserves a medal.

Was not sure about Skrtel at first but proved me wrong, he seems to have adjusted to the english game instantly,and improving  with every game he plays

Skrtel was a rock yesterday if not to take into account one his blunder that could turn into a goal of Inter. But our luck was with us yesterday.
Yes, he gets used quickly to English style more quickly than any one expected.

Looks very decent after all.  The start was just a blip.  Settling in quite well.  I really am starting to wonder who our central defensive partners are going to be in years ahead.

Carragher won't be happy stuck out on the right.

Skrtel is big and fast, wait until next season! Remember that defenders peak at around 27 years old, he's only 23 and has a great future ahead

I have promised my 5 year old that i will take him to his first game at Anfield next season, but i'm not so sure now.  one look at Skrtel and he'll have bloody nightmares!

it just shows how good he is when we are all wondering who'll be the first choice centre halves when danny agger comes back, and the possibility of carra playing right back, that wouldn't have benn thought of a couple of months back.

i think he's a terrific defender and it will be hard for rafa to drop him. plus he's a mean lookin f**ker as well!!

Is it me or are Slovakians intimidating?

Pace, Acceleration, Strength, Areal Ability, Tackling, positional sense, Good on the ball....

Is it just me or is does this guy have the potential to be a star World class defender?

Excellent performance from this guy last night, every time he went for the ball you knew he would get it.  He has great vision and does not need much encouragement of where the danger is, I can tell he will be a vital part of the team next week alongside Hyypia though and have Carra on the right like we have had in previous CL games this season with great results.

He sure has settled into the back four quickly and has been consistently good throughout, I'm sure he'd love to settle the score with Skrek and Donkey in Moscow!

Does anyone think Skrtel looks like he should be in Scarface or something, looks like a mafia sorta guy.
