Always gets sucked into or under the ball and loses his man.

Nails though, or should that be staples.

Has always been flawed and it's exposed without a decent reader of the game alongside him.

Watching him and Lovren together is like watching a kids birthday party - one is playing pin the tail on the donkey and the other has had way too much fizzy juice and just can't keep his hands to himself!

Shocking performance and embarrassingly beaten by Debuchy. At least he got us a point though.

So when are all his apologists going to admit he's one major clusterfuck? Surely it's about time with yet another horror show against Burnley?

Until he's out the club, I'll continue to have sleepless nights. Worst performing player we've had at this club for a good few years, and that's saying something.

He really is surpassing himself, shitting himself against the world beater Danny Ings.
If Rodgers knew how to set up a defence he would be the first defender dropped.

Poor performance that play when Ings hit the post was Sunday league at best I think we have the worst 4 center backs in the league.

Few good performances in a row now for the lad, looks much more comfortable in the middle of a back three and he deserves a lot of credit for our recent improvements at the back.

      Hope it continues.

I thought he was sh*te to be honest. IMO some of his bad performances go a bit un-noticed because he is chucking himself to try and block a shot.

Against Villa, he was constantly being caught out on the wrong side of the attacker and could have cost us on a few occasions.

From a defensive standpoint I thought he was flawless tonight.

Brilliant Skrts, absolutely loved the dominance he showed, top class.

Mate he was brilliant once more absolutely dominated Costa and kicked on from last Saturday when he did the same to Benteke.

I'm still a big fan of his. On his day he is a monster. Just needs a partner to compliment him and he might have found it, in Sakho.

Martin playing a bit deeper than the two either side of him certainly plays to his strengths. Well done Brendan picking a system to suit the players at his disposal.

My tummy aches from the humble pie I ate last night. I'm sorry. I readily apologise for the scathing comments about Skrtel because last night he was a true warrior and I saw what his supporters see in him. I thought there was no way for redemption from his past form, and comments were made in the heat of the moment. Still makes me wrong.

I'm still wary about his ability to play the ball out from defence. Too many time he opts for the cop out pass, passing back to Mignolet or passing the hot potato to some other defender who is being out under pressure. He can cut this out because last night - with confidence flowing - he brought the ball out from back numerous times.

That's the responsibility and confidence I expect to see from every Liverpool player in every game - that fearlessness that epitomised the likes if Souness and co and I think everyone showed that. With better form like this (and form that is played out without Sturridge and Suarez), these players will hopefully realise they are very talented and that - despite bullshit assumptions - is not just reliant on the star strikers of last year. That cavalier attitude came from all players last season, not just those two, and if last nights performance was anything to go by, they should realise that - yes, DO laugh at those in the media who say it was just Suarez.

Last night WAS what we expect from Liverpool every match. You've got to have that mentality that was shown last night in every game, such is the high standard of this club. Last night showed me that there are leaders lurking in many of those minds that play for us, including Skrtel. That extra little bit if quality would have seen us comfortably win against one of the top 3 teams in Europe.

But my apology is still unreserved - I apologise to his supporters here and himself because it's obvious that, even if I don't believe he is the long term option, he 110% HAS a role to play at this club.

Another solid performance from Skrtel. With every passing clean sheet, I am eating more and more of my words.

I think Sakho is the main guy in defence - he's been imperious but Skrtel has been very solid and a worthy member of the defence recently.

I hold my hands up and readily apologise, fair play to him.

Skrtel has been very, very good of late. Dominant, assured, doesn't seem as prone to erratic moments as in a back 4. Well in.

no complaints really from the lad starting to realise that a backward pass is not always best option, Sakho and Can either side of him has improved his game,
