Liverpool will face Swansea City or non-league Havant and Waterlooville at home in the FA Cup fourth round if they overcome Luton Town on Tuesday week.

Well the gods are smiling on us so far.

Nicola should be up for this one.

We SHOULD be beating Luton at home so wouldn't it be great for Havant and Waterlooville to come to Anfield. Never heard of them myself but they've got a cracking name haven't they! I wouldn't be surprised if Swansea knock them out though.

Either way, not a bad draw. Was nice to avoid a Premiership side.

      Let's get past Luton first!

But yeah it will be nice to have the potential banana skin of a side that isn't even in the Football League.

Cracking draw though! Nice to see United paired up with a Premiership side again! They usually get all the minnows so it makes for a refreshing change! Same with Arsenal, to get Newcastle if they pull their fingers out!

Benitez v Martinez - got a nice ring to it that... sounds like a major boxing gig...

If we are not in the 5th round hat with only Luton, Swansea or Havant between us... it would be a disaster.

I mean we have the potential to play :

      Havant AND Waterlooville

They have a large numerical advantage to begin with

Seeing as no buyer has come foward, what do we do if Luton don't exist come a week Tuesday. After all, they only have 26 players atm, and they will need to sell some of those to make money.

In saying that, I'd rather play H & W just to get them a tidy sum of cash! They'll be made up with it, obviously and you feel you've done your bit!

Plus a 8-0 thrashing in the FA Cup is always a healthy way to exorcise demons!  >:D

Automatic qualification I'd imagine! Not our fault there's no-one to play! :)

Looked a decent player - kind of guy you want on the field to mix it when needed - imagine him and Masch in the middle ...would scare the living shites out of Gatusso, Gravesen or Rooney... then again Shrek would also scare the living shites out of all with those ears too...

Well we've seen off Luton and although everyone was expecting Swansea in the next round we have the mighty Havant & Waterlooville.

I know little of this club except that the manager and his son are Liverpool supporters and that their normal gates are around 500 (not bad for a non league side).

Tickets are going on sale today so keep an eye the LFC site to see when you can apply.

Should be a great day out for the non league side, a bit of what sometimes makes the FA Cup special .

Extract from the Havant & Waterlooville Website

      Heroes
      Wed Jan 16 2008, 23:45
Havant and Waterlooville face the unimaginable prospect of a day trip to Anfield next Saturday to face European football giants Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Tonight’s replay with Swansea City saw the Hawks beat the League One leaders 4-2, taking an unassailable lead as early as the fourth minute when Richard Pacquette’s close range header hit the back of the net.

Jamie Collins and Rocky Baptiste followed to put the Hawks into an unthinkable 3-0 lead, before Guillem Bauza’s 20 yard strike pulled one back for the Swans six minutes from the break. The Hawks’ lead looked set to diminish further before half time when Bauza was sent tumbling in the box, but keeper Kevin Scriven pulled off an immaculate match-turning save to deny Leon Britton’s spot kick.

The visitors did manage to pull back another goal straight after the restart when Darren Pratley swept home an Andy Robinson cross, but Tom Jordan’s 64th minute header ensured the Hawks will remain in dreamland for another round yet.

The Hawks have been allocated 6000 tickets for Anfield’s away end and details regarding the purchase of them will be published as soon as they are available.

Looks like they've got the whole of the Lower Anfield Road end.

Very impressed with Havant and W's win, credit to them for getting a decent victory over the team that is top of league 1! I'm looking forward to this game, not because of the fact that we should turn them over about 5,6 even more - 0, but because it is always nice to see a minnow non-league side challenge us, obviously we will get through (but ill say providing just to upset no-one!) we will have a tremendous chance of going on to lift the cup. Would absolutely love to see Stevie lift the cup at Wembley!

Shiiiit! Can't believe I lost track of the FA Cup draws...

Who in Gods name are Havant & Waterlooville?

I would field Lucas Leiva & Co for that game...

I hope we crush them. No offence to them i have nothing but respect for them they must feel amazing that they have got themselves this game against us and at anfield. But i want everyone to get a big confidence boost in this game.

All credit to these lads for getting this far.

The Hawks will have the away day of their lives.

We should win very comfortably with our youth squad even...

First half they will give it a game.

Second half (fitness levels) with show who are the full time pros (and talented ones at that) and who the are postmen, gas-fitters, accountants, etc.. -

Easy win - but we MUST be great hosts (on and off the field) when these boys come to town.

      Hawks - We Salute You.

do yiou reakon bookies would give odds on just a liverpool win

I have found the betting odds from Blue Square (seems fitting) and they have Havant & Waterlooville at 40-1 to win and us at 1/25 and odds of 1/2 for 4 or more goals and a whopping 80-1 for a 6-2 score line.  If you are brave enough and think they can topple us 3-0 you can expect odds of 300-1 so a tenner could yield a possible 3 grand plus your stake back of course!
