ok so most of us will hv sen kuyt in he world cup an thought he was poor an yes i agree! bt he ws plying on the wing bt his positin is a centre forward! no one can judge kuyt becas of that! also if we sign him because he had a poor world cup he wil come with low expectations which could help us! for example: morientes came with high expectations bt he ws terble da sam wit diouf! if we sign him he could surprise us al an bang in the goals! i say we suport rafa on wotevr he does bt personaly me i wud lov 2 c him at anfield! intrested on ur views! i think you have a point. But why bother paying near 10 million for a gamble.he could fit in well but equally he could be a Sh*te. ok he has done well in holland but that means nothing (i.e. kezman, cisse, rebrov, diouf). if he was the only one available and we were despersate then that is ok but we have defoe staring us in the face. a cool finisher with pace, and most of all a PL player. what more do you need (may well be a lot cheaper too)

Well I have heard today that Alex Furgerson wants him to replace Ruud so we could all end up being very dispointed if they do and he turns out to be a very good goal getter, he scored 22 in 32 last season.

with regards to defoe, how much do spurs want for him - im sure i heard it was near the £15m mark and if what they demanded for carrick is anything to go by it wont be much less - if that is the case then you can forget it, we will not buying him because at the moment (financing the new stadium) we can't afford that kind of price for any player !

kuyt , yes or no.... after serious deliberation i would have to
 say no i don' t feel he is as good as many think....

if we think that ; we have to get many cups then we need a strong players as kuyt . kuyt does not have an old injury ,he is young and he proved him self as a good offance.

do you really think we could afford torres hmmmm looks like dirk kuyt didnt exactly set the world on fire at the world cup but looked a strong player and not afraid to get stuck in, if we got him only time would tell and history says dutch players do pretty well in the prem.

On the Questions of a additional Striker
Kuyt - Ok he didnt have a great world cup, nor did Ronaldino, it doesnt make them  crap players. I know nothing of Dutch football apart from the fact the league isnt the strongest, and cutting the mustard in Holland is not necessarily good enough for the Prem. At £12m i think he would be a good Gamble (As all unproven Prem Strikers are).
Defoe - Proven at Prem Level, and i think is a good striker with age on his side. Would like to see him. Would Spurs sell him for £12m? I think not, given what they charged for Carrick! Would they sell him anyway, they only have two other strikers (Keane & Berbatov) so wouldnt make good sense.
Klose - Depends on the price tag, but i think all of the points regarding Kuyt are applicable to Klose, apart from the fact he is a proven goalscorer at the very highest level. At £12m a snip.
Torres - No Chance, couldn't afford him.
Signing no one. - I think this is what Rafa has in mind. Crouch and bellamy will be the trike force, Fowler a bit part role, along with Garcia. Also the option of one up front and Stevie G or Kewell behind the front man an option.

No way should we get defoe he is over rated and over priced. Kuyt sounds alright though :shock:

This Kuyt story isn't going away, its in tonights Echo again and Rafa's saying he wants another striker! I think both Kuyt and Defoe would be good additions though, I dont take to much notice of World cup displays, after all we brought both Phil Babb and El Hadji off the back of excellent world cups and look what happened there! I've not seen alot of Kuyt but the one thing that he's got in his favour is both at International and domestic level he fans love him and go wild for him, they're no mugs so may be he has the ability to suceed?!

yeah ibrahimavich and trezeguet would both be brilliant (ibrahimavich for sure) but do you reckon they would wanna come?

yeah i suppose they might wanna come i would definitely like zlatan would really add flare to the strikeforce and all that coz it might get boring with just british strikers playing the same type of football, we need some variation. shame we cant have more english players elsewhere though :shock:

Really not sure about Kuyt  and not sure we have the money for him so Rafa may be looking elsewhere. Zlatan is an overated player and we defently dont have the money for him, Trezeguet would be a real coup and is not as valued by Juve so could be got for the right sort of money

were also after some young greek guy! He tried 2 come to liverpool for free because he asked his club 2 terminate his contract and they said NO an banned him for 4 months with a very heavy fine! but hes taking it to UEFA and hes asking them to sort it out! I cant just see the reason why we dont just pay whatever his club ask for!!!

i agree..i think zlatan would be brilliant for us.
everyone says he's overrated..and in a sence i agree. but i still think he would be better then kuyt who hasn't really convinced me.
it also makes it more appealing as ibrahimovic refuses to play for juve because they got relegated. he might turn out to cost cheaper then deofe or kuyt would.

It is being reported on other forums (craptalk and Skysports) that Kuyt is flying in today for a medical. Anyone heard anything?

apparently kuyt is around with holland and so if anything is going to happen, then it will be this weekend. medical at anfield has been booked for saturday but not sure whether this is Kuyt. we defo need another striker but not sure about kuyt. defoe seems out of the question now. i'm desperate t see god and bellamy making a partnership.

i dont think gerrard up front is going to work. we need him to boss the midfield. if that means dropping Xabi or momo, then so be it.  if not then i'm afraid i would rather see him on the right then having him upfront. its gonna be an interesting season. we have lots of quality players and i don;t think rafa is totally sure where everone is going to play. we forget about Garcia but he looked good and skillful whrn he was on the other night.

Ibrahimavich signed for Inter two days ago for a cool £16.4m so there's quite a good chance he wont be coming to us.
