      Bell "dropped"

Hard to call it a real good chance. Though on the replay, it looked a lot easier. Should of gone there Bell.

Follows it up with another cut for four. Though that too looked like another chance.

Piss poor fielding from Sri Lanka. Bell has to make a big score now he's had a couple of let offs.

      Ali with another four.

We're dealing in boundaries here and for once we're actually gonna have a decent score in the power play.

There are not many better sights in cricket than an Ian Bell cover drive.

      Another four.

Bell out for 49. Bowled by Lakmal.

After a good start, it's starting to tail away now.

      I don't argue.

I just prove others wrong and they then get a cob on ;)

We've really gone into our shells here. 146-3 off 31 overs.

Not really sure how he got made captain seeing as though his form has been so poor for so long, so you know the saying of the captain should be undroppable.

He was given the captaincy because for the same reasons Pietersen was all those years ago. Those in the media seem to think they're our key wickets and most important player, although because of their need to be flashy show off cu*ts they're actually more likely to get out than a solid, dependable player like Root (who I've championed to be captain for a while now)

KP was a good player, just not as good as some made out. Morgan is F***ing sh*te. I remember Nick Knight, one of the biggest gobshites in the sport, saying how Morgan should replace Cook as captain for the Test team. Even though Morgan can't, rightfully so, get anywhere near the Test side.

Root is a great Test player and will go on to be one of the best for England, I know he has done well today but is he really a one day player?

I'm not sure, when you need a big hitter to clear a few boundarys when the pressure is on I don't think Root is the player.

Edit: he will probably go on to get a double century today.   :D

Root is the perfect one day player and could play for us the way Jayawardene has for years with Sri Lanka. Classy, solid player who the rest simply bat around. He doesn't need to clear the boundary if he's got players like Taylor and Buttler at the other end. He'll rotate the strike to get them on strike or he'll smash quality boundaries constantly.

Root was the only one who left the Sri Lanka tour with his head held high and the only one who's performed well in this World Cup.

Problem is though when others around him fail to produce the big hits then his style of keeping the score ticking over becomes ineffectual.

      It's a Dilemna.

What Root will do though is pick up his scoring. He might score around 10 or 20 off his first 40, but if he bats long he'll pick that up towards a run a ball hundred. As he's doing so today.

His style works fine. It might not be De Villiers or McCullum but very few are. He's not a regular six hitter but he'll hit boundaries constantly.

There's a nice six from him. 96 not out.
