      He has been at St James Park a lot recently........ he heard that new faces were supposed to be arriving and thought he could get his hands on one!!!  :lmao:

      While he didn't go on to win anything John Aldridge's standards did not slip.

      For us he scored 50 goals in 83 appearances for us, 33 in 63 for Sociedad and 132 in 242 for Tranmere when he was still banging them in at the age of 39 albeit at a league lower then the prem. All roughly around the same goals per game ratio.

      Always thought we let him go too soon.

      Alou Diarra, didn't even play for us but ended up playing for France in the World Cup Final 06
