      Day Two

Boro were the first team to visit Anfield,
twas injury time before the points were sealed,
it was a strange game, very topsy turvy,
emotions were flowing, both excited and nervy.

We started the game brightly, the tempo was fast,
unfortunately for us this wasn't to last,
with half time approaching,it turned boring and dull,
the passing was sloppy,we'd drifted into a lull.

On the flanks we were getting a pounding,
Arbeloa was no match for the lively Downing,
then boro scored,Mido made us pay,
I began to think it wasn't our day.

      From 25 yards,Carragher had a go,
whose goal is it?,it's hard to know,
for me,he took a shot,he tried his luck,
it hit the net so who gives a f**k !

When the ball broke loose from the attacker,
with seconds to go,Gerrard scored a cracker,
After two games,we've six out of six,
which sees us right there, still in the mix.

possibly a tad optimistic this poem

      Quadruple

It’s been far too long since we won the league
But this is the year we finally clinch number 19
I can feel it in me water that this year is ours
United and the Premiership will be saying their ta ra’s

We’ve now got a side that’s worthy of the Prem
And we can be crowned champions of England once again
The media will tell us we don’t stand a chance
Well they’ll eat them words as we blow away Chelsea and the Mancs

With Torres on form and Stevie supplying
The rest of the league will go to bed crying
Our long lost friend will be coming home this year
It’ll be ours by Christmas when we’re 30 points clear

Robbie Keane is the last part of Rafa’s masterpiece
With him wearing 7 there’s nobody we can’t beat
Just to prove how good we are we’ll even head down south
To go to Wembley and leave with the FA and League Cups without a doubt

And if that’s not enough we’ll conquer in Rome
We’ll take our place on Europe’s best throne
Now as we stand we’re joyous and elated
Poor old Everton have just been relegated

Liverpool fans from far and near
Believe me when I say that this our year
Nineteen years is twenty to long
But 2008/09 we’ll return where we belong

Top of the tree in England and abroad
All our players each one a hero each one adored
Then we can await another open top bus
Showing off all four of our cups

Queen’s Drive, Anfield and then into town
All us fans jumping up and down
Our voice at full volume as we sing through the night
Our famous quadruple shining so bright

      CLQ

This tie started in Belgium two weeks ago,
where we put up a truly awful show,
At the of the ninety,it was zero-zero,
Reina saved a penalty,he was truly our hero.

The return leg at Anfield was extremely poor,
with ten nails bitten,I needed ten more,
entertainment wasn't provided by the men in red,
but on the touchline, they were going head to head.

This dire encounter went to extra time,
leaving the yanks counting their dime,
next we were refused a blatant pen,
which could have meant UEFA Cup,
      right there and then.

The goal came from the only cross of the night,
shinned in by none other than the 'amazing' Dirk Kuyt,
the t**ts are happy and delighted we're in the group stages,
not to buy new players mind, but to pay the f**kin wages.

      Champions League

Champions League football in now guarenteed
After a hard fought vitory against a strong Belgian team
We didn't play well could easily be out
If it wasn't for a goal from our own Dirk Kuyt

We didn't deserve to win over the two legs
We had to many round holes filled with square pegs
The hero of the tie was stood in our goal
While the rest of the lads couldn't pass or control

Standard Liege can feel hard done
Over the two legs they should of won
But in football you don't always get what you deserve
We've managed to progress while playing in reverse

So onto the group stages we were drawn in group D
Marsielle, Athletico and of course PSV
Not overly difficult but not as easy as some
But if it had no difficulty it wouldn't be fun

Topping the group is where we should aim
Champions of Europe we'll be crowned again
So we've complained, sulked and had the odd moan
But look on the bright side, we're heading for Rome
