I'm developing a keen interest in LFC hat-tricks.

      Any statto's about?

      Which red scored the most?

Who was the last player to get three in a season?

      etc etc...

So Torres has now scored the same number of LFC hat-tricks as.....

      Kenny Dalglish
      John Aldridge
      John Toshack

And actually Yossi has scored as many as John Barnes ever did!

The reds most hat-tricks came from Gordon Hodgson who scored 17
Ian Rush is second with 16
      Roger Hunt got 12
and Fowler and Owen managed 10.

Gordon Hodgson scored 3 in a season. The 1932/33 season.

      Roger Hunt scored 5 hat-tricks in 1961/62.

Jack Balmer scored 15 goals in Nov/Dec 1946 in 7 games  and this included 3 consecutive hat-tricks.I did not see those games but I did see Jack Balmer play many times. We used to joke that he should of played rugby as he would often toe the ball over the bar.He had a shop in West Derby Village just a few minutes away from Mellwood.

Nice one Torres, can't believe how much he's done in so little time on the pitch - he doesn't play 90mins every game and has got 2 hat tricks.. blydi awesome :D

Ian Rush is second with 16
      Roger Hunt got 12
and Fowler and Owen managed 10.

so wonder what the odds are for Torres to equal Jack Balmers three successive hat tricks this Saturday against the Toon??

And I promise not to gloat too much if Torres gets a few and Owen is left wondering 'Newcastle...why?'

Surely the best decision he made (for us) was not not to come back.........

       ;D

oh and if I was a female I would want Torres babies...he's that bloody good!!!!

Owen was my hero when I was a kid. I really don't like him since he fecked off, it was one of the worst memorys of being a child for me!

I can't imagine him scoring a goal, never mind three! I remember I went to his testimonial match. Ireland 3 - Liverpool 4!

I don't blame Owen for leaving when he did... what actually gets me regarding Michael is that he held out and went to Newcastle, even though Rafa was interested in signing him... because of a misely few more thousand quid a week... if he had that much passion for Liverpool, he would come back on 80k instead of 85k a week (or whatever the actually amount was... which I am sure would have been a handsome payroll at LFC).

      Owen YNWA, just.

I can't entirely blame Owen for going either, although I would have liked to see him give Rafa one season first. The thing that really pisses me off with him is the fact he stalled on signing a new contract all season, saying he would if we secured Champions League football, then when we did he fu**ed off anyway for a miserly 8 mill. I would have accepted him leaving if he'd just signed a new contract so we could get a decent sum for him.

Anyway, going off topic a bit there. I wonder what the odds are on Nando getting to 5 hatricks this season? I believe he's still got another two in him before May.
