There is no doubting the lads skill, but for me you should show class as a player and as a man, and frankly Ronaldo has once again been shown to be lacking in the gracious winner department!

He said: "I voted for Adebayor because I think he has had a great season as well.
"But you have many players who have had a good season - Torres, Fabregas, many players. But I think I deserve to win!"

He didn't want to vote for Torres because he knows Torres had a chance of winning it but Adebayor didn't. He obviously knows that Torres is the better player.

I think the players voted for Fabregas because he really is the 'young' player. They look at Torres and probably think that 24 years is a bit old for that kind of award. I'm sure Torres had more votes than him when it came to the PFA player of the year. Does anyone know the vote rankings like who came 2nd and 3rd?

True but im sure they would vote a 23 year old young player of the year and torres hasnt been 24 that long, majority of the season he was still 23

It's all a load of tosh anyway, I'm sure many players dislike Torres!

      PFA Young player

      3 - Fernando Torres
      2 - Cristiano Ronaldo
      1 - Cesc Fabregas

      PFA Player of the year

      3 - Emmanuel Adebayor
      2 - Fernando Torres - WOOOOOOOO!!!
      1 - Cristiano Ronaldo

Fernando Torres should be proud. Coming into the Premiership in your first season and getting into the top three for both young and player of the year is rather impressive. Hope he can get one better next season and win the award!

IMO being in player of the year should disqualify you from being young player of the year.

      Have to agree with that.

How can Cesc win young even though Ronaldo was nominated and Ronaldo wins player even though Cesc was nomianted, doesn't make sense.

Don't worry, he can go one better than Cristiano Ronaldo this season and win a Champions League goal medal with Liverpool ;)
