Don't know about 5, but Kuyt has taken three massive pressure penalties - two at Goodison, and one great one against Chelsea in the shootout last year.

      I'd choose:-

Gerrard, Yossi, Alonso (remember Istanbul -  he was brill under pressure) Kuyt and Babel.  Even though Torres is in top top form and an excellent finisher, he ain't on my list because I feel he'll be dodgy on pens (funny eh)!! Has he taken any pens for us yet? I don't think so...
No doubt someone will enlighten me if i'm wrong  :)

      1. Aurelio- He must be good at them
      2. Gerrard- Had enough practice
      3. Babel- Scored twice in Hollands 13-12 win over England so can handle the pressure
4.Kuyt- Scored two against Everton and the winner against Chelsea in the CL.
      5. Alonso- In my opinion the best penalty taker. Has the ability to place with power.

I notice a few people are saying Babel just as much as Torres but I think Babel is too much of a worry to take them as he takes it pretty bad when he misses a decent cross or jumps in the way of someone else's shot I suppose it's all down to keeping your cool really and players like Hyypia, Torres, Gerrard, Yossi and Alonso all have that ability in front of goal.  I have not said Carra personally cos as good as he is it's no secret he ain't the best striker of a ball and a couple of well taken penalties on the day won't change that.

Maybe not the best kicker, but he puts away the follow up.

Agreed, he is on par with Gerrard in my books. Classic finisher and very composed.

1: Torres, he can finish so he must be able to slot a pen
2: Kuyt, good in pressure situations, everton and chelsea come to mind
3: Aurelio, accurate shot and think he'd have the bottle
4: Alonso, composed player and used to the big stage
5: Gerrard, he'll put it away and I put him 5th so he can score the winner  (that is if Reina hasn't saved all the others already!)

The only hope would be to take the penalties as follows
      1. Torres
      2. Gerrard
      3. Torres dressed up as Risse (must take it left footed)
      4. Gerrard dressed up as Kuyt (the 70's porn star)
      5. Torres dressed up as Carragher (must look nervous to be convincing)

I would just give it to whoever was most confident in stepping up, confidence is the key.

Torres - In superb form for us so he would be my first up to take a pen.
Gerrard - Need I say more...
Kuyt - Shown he can handle the pressure with that pen agaginst cheslea
Carra - Would love to see him celebrate after scoring a pen.
Mascherano - With all that agression he would simply break the back of the net with his pen. Taking the goalie with him.

I must admit I was dreading the match going to extra time and then penalties on Tuesday night.......thankfully it didn't come to that  ;D

      But my five would be:

Steven Gerrard - to get us off to a good start

Javier Mascherano - will probably smash the ball through the net

Fernando Torres - his confidence is sky high, so I'd be confident he'd score

Dirk Kuyt - Has taken some important penalties in the past, a man for the big occasion

Xabi Alonso - Still think he can do the business for us

In that order as well. ;D

      Gerrard
      Torres
      Alonso
      Babel
      Agger

Babel I hear you question??  Ye coz he hits a ball so hard even if a keeper got to it the ball would still probably find it's way into the net!
