Possible Barcelona Clean out incl. Deco

I got this off Fox Sports New Active today,

Portugese international midfielder Deco handed Spanish Giants Barcelona another bombshell by announcing that he will not be with the club next season, Spanish media reported.
Deco under contract at the Nou Camp until 2010, claimed that Barca chiefs had given him the green light to find another club.
Barcelona have endured a troubled season where they will finish third in La Liga at best behind champions Real and Villareal following the final round of matches this weekend.
Coach Frank Rijkaard has called it quits to be replaced by former player Josep Guardiola while players Ronaldinho,Edmilson, Lilliam Thurham and Gianluca Zambrotta have all been tipped to be heading for the exit door this summer.

That's the article copied word for word off my t.v, how old is Deco now? Is he worth looking at as a winger?

First, Mourinho isnt there anymore and he is 30 years old now where as the article says 29.

Barcelona ready to offload Deco

Portugal international midfielder Deco could be set for a move to England after Barcelona confirmed he is free to talk to interested clubs.

The Brazil-born star, who is likely to be a target for a number of Premier League clubs, said: "I will almost certainly go to England or Italy.

"I won't stay in Spain as the only club at the same level as Barcelona is Madrid and I would never go to Madrid.

"I will go where I want and not where the club tells me."

Deco joined Barca from Porto in 2004 after helping the Portuguese side win the Uefa Cup, Champions League and domestic league titles.

The 30-year-old won two league championships with the Catalan giants, and was part of the team that beat Arsenal in the Champions League final in Paris in 2006.

However, a series of injuries have hampered Deco's season, contributing to just 14 La Liga starts in Barcelona's campaign.

Reports suggest he is one of a number of big names who could exit the Nou Camp this summer, with Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Lilian Thuram, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Thierry Henry all mentioned as possible departures.

I don't like none of the big Barca players they running from Barca in their darkest hour, so there is nothing to assure me that they won't do the same with us a season or so later, which will be a damaging financial loss considering their age.

I'd rather leave deco, he is a fantastic player but at 30 he cant be likely to play too much longer. I cant see him ousting stevie from the side either.

Think Giuly left for Roma last year mate but Henry definitely and the young lad Dos Santos could be one for the future

I think Deco would be a bad move because he is getting on a bit now and it could take him a yr or 2 to settle, much rather Dos Santos, Eto'o or Henry. (Actually I would prefer we got Bojan but i cant see it happening)

I would actually love us to bring in Henry if they are getting rid of him, I know he is getting on a bit now, but he has experience in the premiership, he's proved that, and he would add experience to the team having been there and done it in terms of winning the PL. Him and Torres up front would be amazing!!

Abidal would be the only Barca player I would like to see at Liverpool. He would fill in the LB gap pretty well.

Get a feeling DODDZY89 could be right.If we can't get any top class players this time out, why go for the next best, why not wait intil next season and have a bigger kitty to get the top players. We seem to spend transferr funds because they are there.  Not often on the best players. Surely if we can't improve the squad we should continue with what we've got.

I'm sorry to nit-pick but im sure Bojan and Raul were the two surprises to actually not get picked for Spain...unless there has been an injury i havent heard of......but anyway he is awesome!!

i totally agree with gerns,we shouldnt be buying any more 2-7 million pound players.maybe in defenders but a definate no no on attacking players.we dont need any more players in the pennant,riise,aurelio,voronin,dirk, bracket.
id rather see us just buy one very good player rather than 4 ore 5 ordinary players!

May 14, 2008 BARCELONA'S Argentina striker Lionel Messi, who has reportedly sparked interest from Barclay's Premier League side Chelsea, said he wanted to stay at the Spanish club.

Henry, yes. Deco, no.

Henry is wasting away what he has left of his class at Barca and we will no doubt be a great club for him to finish his career.

Deco though, dont really need him and TBH i dont rate him too high.
