Reds to finally get Heinze - The People

After being denied the chance to sign Gabriel Heinze from Manchester United in the summer, Liverpool are to make another attempt to capture the defender, this time from Real Madrid.

But Benitez never gave up and is now determined to land the 29-year-old defender at the second attempt.

Heinze has barely had a look-in at the Bernabeu and the Kop boss has continued to track him.

I think Heinz is a bit on the old side now, he is nearly 30, what are we going to get out of him, maybe about 2 seasons,
and will cost us about 8mill.

      With Tomas Ujfalusi and Kakna Kaladze also linked with the reds;

Who do you think would be the best defensive recruit. ???

       :)

I'd go with Ujfalusi because he's the cheapest by far, and we only really need a 4th string CB...

Would be very interesting to see if the reds do get Heinze a few months later.

I can't remember how much Madrid paid for him, but Liverpool and Madrid are not best of friends off the field and it would surprise me if a deal could be brokered between the two.

Besides anything else Rick Parry is a plank.

Real paid 8 million for him.  :)

Why not both? Its Christmas time, lets go nuts. Xmas-smiley

Out of all, Khaladze i feel is the best defender but that could be a bad thing. We dont need the best but only cover and at the cheapest price. I read a deal was struck for 500 000 for Ujfalusi, a great deal and probably the best for us. Though i would love to have Heinze on the back of my shirt and see Fergie's face when Gaby runs out in the Pool shirt.

Scrap the Ujfalusi deal comment, source was News of the World. pfft.

Yeah, but Real madrid is having a good time in the League and the UEFA CL.

We can make an attempt though  :kop5cf8koxp6:

I dont think Heinz is worth 8million,but knowing the way Real Madrid done us with Owen anything is possible .They bought Owen for 8 mill and sold him less than a year later to Newcastle for 16 million. If Real want to get rid of him the REDS should offer no more than 3 million.I would still prefer to see Insua given a chance at left back.

I'd love to see Heinze wearing our jersey but Real Madrid being a greedy and shrewd b*****d will never sell Heinze to us cheaply while Whisky face would have known that we will have no chance of getting Heinze from Real. What a cruel world.

I think that he would be a useful back up squad player, but there's no way he is worth £8m

I would buy Tomas Ujfalusi 'cos he is the most cheapest and i saw him playing once and he was very solid at the back. Heinze is very good player but real will sell him double the price that they bought him.

Could well be but i kinda think rafa has given up his pursuit of him.

Would like to see us get someone like chiellini or amorbieta for LB though.

Nah lil cisses Chiellini is over rated IMO.

I would love if this was revived now that Xabi is staying and if the Barry deal falls through I would make him our number one choice at LB.

What makes you say that, i think he's a good LB not the best out there but a good one for certain.

I think Tomas Ujfalusi has agreed to sign for Athletico Madrid. Why do we need another CB when we have Skrtel, Carra, Agger, Hyypia
