And he was how old then?

I don't think you could say Torres was playing with one of the best strikers in the world, he was playing with a striker who had the potential to be one of the worlds finest.

      Thanks.

From what I've seen today, we don't need Michael. Keane's hitting form and we've still got Torres to come back.

The goals are starting to flow and they shall continue to do so apon the return of El Nino.

Aguero was one of the finest, he just needed time to adapt. Even though he hadnt proved himself in Europe he was one of the best strikers due to his natural talent. He hasnt played any different since then just that he has more confidence and exposure now. Not to mention he was finding it just as difficult to play with Fernando due to their games being very similar. Now his partnership is much like Robbie and Fernando where both strikers know their place, Fernando and Sergio are the main men in the strikeforce.

Sure if he was sold he wouldnt have fetched 25 million like every other top striker in Europe but thats only because he was new and it would be very hard to persuade any buyer to pay that much for fresh talent.

i REALLY REALLY REALLY dont want this shitster back. To me he is scum. He was a boyhood hero and really let me down when he left. When we had been linked with him in the past, i always wanted him back. Now, not only do we not need him, he is unreliale because of injuries and also hes a money grabbing tosser. Sorry, but i feel very strongly about this

I don't think we need him, and I don't think he's at the level he used to be when he was with Liverpool the last time. And he left! How could he leave us? And now we want him back? I say no.

Anyway yes I guess he had a bad game. Too bad.

I really dont think Benitez wants Qwen back at Liverpool, In my opinion he just doesnt seem to rate him.  I would say out of Either Owen or Heskey, Rafa would bring Heskey back quicker than he would Michael Owen.

The only danger he posed today was kneeing Pepe in the back of the head.

owen would be a waste of money, i mean we'd probably sign him for 4-5 mil, or even free in the summer,  i reckon anfield is the place he wants to return to, but the fact is he'd demand wages on par with wot he got at newcastle, bout £115,000 a week, and frankly thats a waste on a player who is similar to torres, a poacher, sure he good in the air, but he wont bring anything new to the team, i no im gonna get some bad reactions for saying this but i think hesky would be a godd signing. some times i dont feel rafa has a plan b, against preston we fell to bits almost without alonso, creating the passes in the middle of the feild. hesky would give us a plan b coz u could just sub out one of the DM n turn the 4-2-3-1- to a 4-4-2 n bounce long balls of hesky big head all day long for torres stevie g n everyone else to pick up n (hopefully) score with.

couldn't find any another thread on Michael Owen so put it in here.

What a c**t tho, with his comments today about Liverpool.

      "I am not particularly surprised,"

"I would say their position reflects where they are right now.

Just read those comments, and can't believe I once wanted Owen to rejoin us. What an absolutely disloyal self serving individual he has turned out to be or perhaps always was!
Talk about kicking a dog when its down! (Not that we are dogs mind you, but you get the idea of what I'm trying to say...) If Owen has nowt good to say about his former employers, he should keep his over inflated opinions to himself and say nowt for heavens sakes!
First he plays for Man U, and now this? Was he ever a real Liverpool player or just a toe rag that happened to play for Liverpool. My opinion, I believe the latter. :f_steam:

I've supported Michael through thick and thin even when he joined Manchester United but even I'm disappointed by his latest comments. Very disappointed.  :(

As a former Liverpool player, it would have been more dignified if he had not said anything.

All Micky Owen achieved at Real Madrid was splinters in his arse from sitting on the bench,He did not appreciate what he had at Anfield and really has been a total failure since he left us.
