yes, the name is a difficult one.  If it were me, I'd wait a few weeks until you get a better idea of what she's like - temperament wise, her style, attitude, interests, etc.  That info will give you a clearer picture of a possible name.

I freaked out when I saw the photos of your new cat, Smiggs!  She looks exactly like one of mine (except that mine is a male), he's called Gizmo, he even does the same face where he looks like he's sucking on a lemon!  I couldn't find the photo on my computer where they look identical, so I took some new ones:

I got home from work tonight and expected ripped curtains, pooh all over the place etc, but none of it !!  She'd been in her tray with no mess and was waiting for me for a cuddle and a stroke, she's the perfect cat, I just love her, I'm so glad I adopted her !!

I had a grey cat once but it got hit by a milk float and had to be put down

Kenny, sorry to hear of your grey cat getting hit by the milk float.  When I lived rural, we always had cats.....and being on a quiet country road, they nearly always met their end on that road.  I think the very occasional car (every 15 minutes) took them by surprise.

I prefer dogs (much more loving), but they are much harder to maintain.  But cats have their own personalities and I'd be lost without Fluffy.
