Euro 08 player of the tournament?
      Jun 29, 2008 10:24:38 pm
There's been some good individual performances in this tournament. Who was the best?

I wouldn't say our own Torres has been the player of the tournament. He's done well but has looked a little tired at times and has probably been effected from not having a Gerrard type player to play in front of. But he's obviously up there as one of the best.

I was impressed by Sneijder for Holland and Arshavin for Russia. And I think Senna for Spain was truly inspirational. He never stops running.

Iniesta - consistently quality, created countless openings, was a constant threat and was superb in my eyes

It has to be Senna for me as well, he was always good and did a lot of the dirty work. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if Villa since he was the top scorer (though 3 of the goals came in the first game).

I cant decide between Torres,Fabregas or Senna.

Torres, because of endless work rate, partneship with Villa, the mature way he behaved when subbed and of course his two goals.

Fabregas, because of the way he handled himself not starting and his outstanding perormances and special ability to dominate games at such a young age.

Senna, because of consistent performances, breaking up the play and his sheer desire and determination to win.

      So Senna...just.

There have been many outstanding performances in this tournament

But my own personal accolade has to go to Iniesta.

Superb player, works like a trojan.

I really don't think you can look any further than David Villa to be honest.

His opening hat-trick really set the tone for Spain's campaign.  He lit the fuse for them in that game and the momentum from his hat-trick carried them a long way IMO.

Bloody hard one this, I've narrowed it down to: Sneijder, at the heart of all good the Dutch did. Iniesta, saw passes that others wouldn't. Senna, never stopped working. Xavi, pulled the strings for the Spanish all tournament. Villa, as JD said set the tone and linked up superbly with not only Torres but the rest of the midfield.

Can't decide between them! Also Cassilas (sp?) was superb for Spain!

Ahh F**k it make it Spain + Sneijder!!

      Free Kick vs Austria

Also, for causing me to use foul and abusive language many times during the final. Chea**** F*****, etc etc etc.... Before laughing silly at the sight of his face.

I would agree with Senna (the Brazilian Spaniard??).

Got to be one of the Spain players but they all played well as a team maybe Xavi or Senna might just edge it.

      I think Senna

Before the euro's i thought he was just an average player and was curious as to why he was included but after watching him play he has changed my opinion, great performances and hardly put a foot wrong

For me it had to be Fabregas who was sublime when he got the chance especially the flick for Guiza's goal in the semi final. He showed a lot of professionalism aswell by accepting the situation and leaving his ego at home where it belongs Cescs fab!!!! I better stop im starting to sound like an Arsenal fan he was top class tho
