ECHO Arena to stage Liverpool's biggest ever talent contest
THE ECHO today launches the biggest regional talent search ever.
Are you Merseyside’s next star waiting to hit the big time?
If so, then you need to audition for Now That’s What We Call Culture.
We are not just looking for singers and dancers – if you think it is talent, we call it culture.
Anyone who lives, works and plays in Merseyside can have a go.
If you have got what it takes to thrill an audience and pull in a crowd, whether you are a Pavarotti or a McCartney, we want to see you auditioning at the ECHO arena on Wednesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 7.
Twelve finalists will then be invited to showcase their talent at a star-studded finale attended by more than 10,000 people at the arena on Friday, August 8.
Celebrity judges will be on hand.
The winner, or winners, will then get to play a starring role in the closing ceremony of Capital of Culture year, a guest appearance in Channel 4’s teen soap Hollyoaks, and £1,000 prize money.
The competition, part of Liverpool’s Open Culture initiative, led by culture boss Phil Redmond and backed by the ECHO, is aimed at encouraging people to demonstrate their talents and participate in 2008.
There are a few in here who should put there names down;
Smigger; for her singing, ( or was that her sinking pints skills ).
JD; for his dancing,along with Kenny, they where good.
County Rd Kopite, I know is good on a stage, playing music.
Sorry MsG and Tommo, I can think of one or two things you are good at, but you have to live in the Liverpool area.
Does anybody know any other names to add to the list.
