I want us and Athletico to have qualified by the time we play each other, then we can sit back, relax and watch the all the Spanish boys at work  ;)

Besides, Nando is not gonna want to score the winner against his old club is he  :f_tongueincheek:

Not too bad a draw but we will of course have to be wary of a strengthened Marseille, also really looking forward to getting a look at Sergio Agüero when we play Atlético.

I can believe that.  Atletico are no mugs.  Marseille beat us last year at Anfield and PSV could go either way.

If we play like we have done in the first two games of the competition we will finish bottom of the group.

I have to dissagree, the final group is the most difficult on paper IMO in terms of actually qualifing 1st and 2nd, ours maybe on a whole as we have no whipping boys, but no real powerhouses

I'd like a.madrid to see Garcia return to Anfield,PSV and Marseille would do nicely.

      Spooky!

Slick Rick came across as a complete tosser in his interview after the draw,he seemed very nervous...

I don't know why some are saying this is the toughest group
Apart from the 4th pot wher we got A. madrid ,who with Zenit were the hardest
If one sees the teams in pot 2 and 3, i think we avoided the likes of Roma, , W. Bremen, Villareal, Juventus, Schalke 04, B.Munich, and got PSV from pot 2 and we avoided Fiorentina, Panathinaikos,   Shakhtar, , Fenerbahçe, and got Marseile
Ok we had A madrid then . but you can,t have them all good
I am happy with the draw , and i think we can win this group
there are more tough groups then ours IMHO

I agree xabigerrard, we probably got one of the easier teams from pot 2, but pot 3 is round the same. As for pot 4, undoubtedly Zenit & Athletico were the toughest opponents, but I'm not complaining. We've got to play the toughest teams at some point if we want to win this thing, so why not start how we mean to continue.

its good that we have A.Madrid away and home back to back  , ,we can play that one as if its a knock out away first and home after
hope we would be already trough by the time we visit holland for the last game ,that is somehow a bit tough in holland

Tough group....potential for everyone to have a good day and beat each other. no easy points....going to be a tight battle to the end.

Surely that's the point Mag. all good teams but not great ones and all trying to give us games like Standard did over two legs, we are far from being great (at the moment) and i think last night should be a little reminder to do the job properly and take nothing for granted.

Athletico had one of their best seasons for years last year and Marseille have bought a couple of half decent players to improve on the team that surprised us at Anfield last campaign notably Hatem Ben Arfa who is a more than adequate replacement for Nasri

Wasnt aware Ben Arfa signed for them, thats my opinion gone up, i was thinking there not half the team without Nasri. I still think that the table will show us comfortably on top, thats the point im trying to make, the performances maybe a different story, but a wins a win and it all goes down the same on paper

It would have qualified as probably the toughest group of all, but look down a little further and you'll see a certain team called Arsenal have probably got us beat on that particular claim...but who's worried, this is Liverpool in European competition...'nuff said!!!
