I use FF mostly as well but notice version 3 tends to crash a bit more than Firefox 2 ever did.  I think Safari is the best browser around but have just downloaded Google Chrome so we shall see.

Hey.... this isn't bad at all.  Forum and Site work fine as well (obviously the most important thing a new browser needs to do) ;)

I've only been using this about 30 minutes but I must admit - it seems quicker than FF2 ever was and 'built-in' spell checking - not like the FF2 add-on.  I'd recommend having a gander.

Curiosity isn't a sin, so I guess I'll see what it's got in store for me then. As long as it's better than IE, I'll never complain!

Upon inspecting it, it hurts to say that it is very fast ... faster than FF. I'm torn between them now. Decisions, decisions.

FF3 has built in spell checking (no add-on).

As for Chrome, I've been using it for 1-2 hours now.Quicker than Firefox, lighter (for sure). Most of the websites are rendering properly.

The one major thing it lacks at the moment are extensions. But it's Open Source, so we should see something in that area very soon.

Very good release for a beta.

Edit:Here is a "comic" for those who want to know more :

Thanks for that link - it's all clear now.

Apparently APIs are asynchronous, I need some multiple process isolation but if there's a browser bug in the renderer I'll only lose one tab.

Just one question...What the F**k lot does that mean  ???

All I want to know is...

Can I download faster?  Can I surf the net faster?  Will it allow everything to work properly (where IE7 stops things)?  Will it allow me to access any page I like (where FF doesn't)?

Is there a  :action-smiley-057: in the house?

In simple terms, all the tabs are independent from each other. So,if one of them has a bug due to the website (and it crashes),it will not affect your other tabs.In current browsers (FF and IE), if a tab has an error which can lead to a crash,it affects the whole browser session, and thus usually the whole browser crashes.

      Can I download faster?
      No

Can I surf the net faster?
Looks like it.I guess it will only get better with future releases.

Will it allow everything to work properly (where IE7 stops things)
Not for any time soon. Most websites are built for IE (and FF in recent years),so chances are you will find some websites not rendering properly.Expect it to get better with time obviously.

Will it allow me to access any page I like (where FF doesn't)?

Well, you would have thought with Google owning YouTube, they might have checked wouldn't you.

Yeah, a few things here and there don't work but it is a Beta and it is much quicker than any other browser I've used.

      Internet Explorer is slow.

Firefox 3 is terrible compared to Firefox 2 (which was amazing).  Had no end of troubles with all sorts of things in recent weeks and constantly crashes if I have more than 3 tabs open.

Until Google Chrome irons out its issues and moves out of beta I think Safari has to take it as the number one web browser at the minute.

I've been using Chrome for some months now. It's by some way the fastest browser.
I like the way I never need  to use my favourites list  dropdown - just bang in the first letter, and if I've been there recently, bang enter and I'm there (I know the other browsers do this, but you have to use the down arrow to get to the top option).
Only problem I've found is I have to use IE or FF for online banking, but this should be rectified in the future.
Youtube's OK on Chrome, but Veetle doesn't like it.

I tend to use it when I'm doing general browsing, but it does have issues with banking websites and quite a few things I need to log in to and faff about with.  Some Flash sites don't appear to love it either.  But it's getting there and has a lot of cracking features.

I may be wrong but I think Chrome is still in Beta.   Its fully functional and has been advertised on TV but I noticed a lot of updates.

Its solid, fast, good design. You can see a lot of FF influence with the tabbed browsing and favorites.  I do like having the websites you visited in the Large Icon type space on the Homepage.

I use it when watching streaming shows and LFC matches.  It seems to buffer less on shaky streams. I dont know if thats a Chrome component but it seems to stream better than FF or IE.
