Found some Ice Cream at the back of the freezer and was iced up against the side so must have been there a while and think will need a chainsaw to get some of it into a bowl. Let it defrost a bit and be ok to eat still? (eat it now and will break a tooth :D)

I've just tried some Marmite on our fridge.

Then found out it went off in March 2006. :D Might ring in work tomorrow! :D

It's not my fridge, it was in my Mam's. ;)

I didn't even know it could go off. :D My stomach's okay, and it didn't really taste any different.

Bump. I've just realised the Digestives I was dipping in my hot chocolate were three months out of date.

Trouble is, there's only one left in the pack. But not eating it could save my life. It's my own fault for only having one meal in two days!

      I'd say they are okay.

As far as I'm aware, eat by dates are suggestions rather than actual eating rules.

Bet it tasted like a digestive cardboard box though.

Tasted OK actually. The chocolate I was dipping them in might have helped. But if I was stuck on Cockroach Island and I found a pack of Digestives that were a few months out of date I know what my choice would be for tea.

Mate, I'd rather eat the cockroaches than salmon!

See you on the other side. Seriously though, if you start having the shits and it's pure blood, you know what to do.

I ordered rice and Tom Yum soup from downstairs. Brought it back to eat and when I came home, I realised it was rice and spinach soup.

I'm not a veg eater so..... it's gotta be one of my worst meals.

Amazing that this thread's been bumped after what happened to me last night.

I was as sick as a dog in the night, I'd had spare ribs for my tea, and they tasted fine and were cooked properly, but I had a funny tummy when I went to bed, thought I had indigestion, but then about 3 0'Clock this morning I got up and was terribly sick, feel OK now though.

Don't think I'd risk that JD.....but you've probably already ate it

There was a phone in on the radio the other day about supermarkets putting dodgy dates on food ,thus encouraging consumers to throw out food past its use by date .
Well an old lady phoned in and funny enough it was the same advice my gran gave me a long time ago ,if it looks ok smells ok and tastes ok then funnily enough no matter what date it is 99.9999999% of the time it will be ok ,
As she pointed out back in them days they didn,t even have fridges so the best device around was curiously enough your eyes and your nose ,in other words people used common sense, a practice a lot of people could do with trying these days.
My missus wont do it but i eat loads of things with the date up its just a big con trick for super markets to make more money , i have even been known to cut the mould off the cheese and eat it i am still alive so cant be bad for you .

Will go along with that. If it looks and smells okay it normally is. I always cut mould off cheese or bread. Hope your feeling better Cas
