The back four should be kept as it is

      Midfield:

      Gonzalez--Alonso--Sissoko--Gerrard--Pennant

      Garcia--Alonso--Sissoko--Gerrard

      Gonzalez--Alonso--Gerrard--Pennant

      Kewell--Alonso--Sissoko--Gerrard

We have loads of midfield players:

      Zenden
      Kewell
      Gonzalez
      Sissoko
      Alonso
      Gerrard
      Garcia
      Pennant

Im glad im not Rafa Benitez because i would not be able to sleep

      Now for the attack:

      Kuyt--Bellamy

      Fowler--Crouch

      Kuyt--Crouch

      Bellamy--Crouch

      Bellamy--Fowler

      Fowler--Kuyt

Another good problem for Rafa but this is an easier problem because you can see that Kuyt & Bellamy are the best suited 2 but again when its not a pacy game then Crouch is needed like he should of been as soon as Ballack was sent off!
If Crouch plays then i think you might see wingers in the team proberly Pennant and maybe Gonzalez on the left or Aurelio.
If its Bellamy & Kuyt then you might not see Gonzalez.. maybe more Garcia & Pennant and Gerrard proberly not in the center of midfield!

Anyway im not Andy Gray and wouldnt want to be but how would you prefare our set-up to be as there are many many options!

All them midfield line ups hurt my eyes.

I think that we don't have a 'best' midfield.

It's clear at Anfield you can play Garcia and Gonzalez, whereas they may not be suited away from home.

I don't think Rafa thinks we have a best midfield.  I think he is very tactically focussed and plays the best team he can for each occasion.

Looking at the positives, we have the same number of points after 5 games as the last two seasons......

BUT.... we have had 3 away games, and played the Champions away and our local derby.  Who had we played in the first five games last year???

      Man Utd at home
      Sunderland (!) at home
Boro, Spurs and Birmingham City away.
