What is it about these Internationals?
      Oct 16, 2008 12:36:21 pm
I know these games need to be played but they are such a bummer as it always results in some of our best players getting injured and leaving an effect on our league results.

All the F***ing time this happens. 2nd time Torres has been injured because of playing for Spain, and now Ryan Babel is injured! Does anyone actually care about International football anymore? Our own England fans can't even go a whole match without booing one of their own players just because they made a mistake. It's disgusting, and it shows why most Liverpool fans would rather seperate themselves from the England fans!

I don't care about international football - certainly not against bollocks teams.

I suggest that there should be a knockout phase in the qualifications.  Would be much more fun.

In fact they could play it in the summer before the World Cup.

In fact they could play it in the summer before the World Cup.

The problem with that is one or two nations can't play in it because they will have to play in the Confederation Cup during that period and people would still complain because it could result in 3 straight summer competitions (Euro, WCQ, WC).

There isn't much we can do, this games need to be played to find out who plays in the big show. It is a shame that players get hurt but it is the nature of the game and there isn't much you can do to avoid this, even if you cut down the qualification process by two/four games but cutting out the likes of San Mario or Andorra.

You just have to cross your fingers.
