What a player! Beardsley and Barnes my two favourite players as a youngster. Such a clever player, incredibly skilful, great finisher but simply brought everyone else into the game. I still to this day cannot fathom how he was sold to Everton. Proved in his second stint at Newcastle just how much he still had left to give. That whole Liverpool side was broken apart way too quickly by Souness.

Hmm what happened to Van den Berg? Is he not good enough for us? Been out on loan I think, but being Dutch, Slotty will surely give him a go?

Ah, just seen we’ve put a 20mil price tag on him so I suppose he’s for sale…

I've also seen the reports that he's potentially up for sale. But I still think we only need 1 new quality CB to replace Matip. I think it possibly depends on Slot's opinion on Gomez, where does he want him to play?

Dont think we have a thread on him which is a crime if we dont

Maybe a lot are too young to remember him but for those that to, how good was he??

For me a pure genius, probably doesnt get the plaudits because he was Kennys replacement and signed same time as Barnes who was arguably the best in the world at that time

But Beardsley was a fking genius, had absolutely everything. Create and take goals, skill to burn.....loved watching him. Brilliant player

Yes it should be. There's also another shop in Liverpool One shopping centre (albeit a smaller one), so you don't need to go to Anfield for the shop only. That said, I'd definitely go anyway if you've never been before, even if just to take a picture outside, see the Hillsborough memorial etc. When are you coming?

Looks like the museum will be open too. It's not huge or anything but worth a quick visit.

It will be the Sunday after this one. We'll be flying in from Dublin and then heading out by car the following day. I'll probably only have a little over a day so it's gonna be tough to try and at least see a few of the things I'd like to see but I'm going to do my best.

Looks like Anfield tours are closed for the month of June due to concerts so I won't be able to tour the stadium. I assume it's still worthwhile for me to go over and at least see it from the outside? Shop will likely be open and accessible?

      Definitely go mate.

From the states it's likely to be ages, if ever, you get back over so as Diego says go to get a feel for the area, the Hillsborough memorial,   The Sandon Bar etc
